It was kind kf you to respond to the lost aski g about a harness.   I think itsw Draco's way of saying he's still arpund Dad!

I just want to add my support to Petra's.   We know the holidays were rrpugh without your handsome boy physically by your side.

Has he sent you signs yet?  Has he guided another dog your way yet?  He will...on voth counts.

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Hi there

i was actually thinking about you and your beautiful boy Draco the other day... I hope you are doing okay. I am sure that your heart is still missing a crucial piece, but I also hope that hole will be filled with more love for him in the future.

If you would care to share more pictures of your boy at any point in his life, we would honoured to see them. I’m sure he would love for you to share his spirit!

All the very best to you

Petra and Stewie.

p.s. Hugs to Fez please.

Hi Petra and Stewie,

Thanks for checking in! Fez and I are doing okay. Fez is bored nowadays, does have anyone to boss around right now. Not that Draco ever minded, he just treated Fez's bossy barks as if he were onw of his shedding fur laughing

I've been trying to fill the void with fostering through a rescue. Decided on it a couple of weeks after Draco passed. I've fostered before several years ago but this was a first in a while. First foster dog started off pretty well, but the day before the foster dog was to be adopted, he suddenly got sick from distemper and a couple of weeks later of caring for him, he lost to his battle sad. So soon after Draco's passing I felt so defeated when this happened to my foster dog. No vets anywhere near me were able to help treat a distemper dog because it's not common due to vaccines. Unfortunately,  this foster dog contracted it from the shelter in Texas where he came from before he was transported to VA. It was unexpected and happened suddenly so fast. Distemper is a horrible disease sad.

I'm still fostering though. I promised Draco I'd keep saving those that I can for him. heart

Oh Draco would be so very proud of you! And to keep on fostering after such a sudden heartbreak... again!!! You really are solid, I mean that! Bless your big heart!

Hehehe, Draco and Fez really were good mates weren’t they?! Keep up the brilliant work of fostering, the world needs more people like you! Paul and I just failed at a foster, right before Christmas. His is a cat named Ted and he is officially adopted into the Allen Clan! Stewie really is very patient with us all!

Thank you for popping back in. Sally is right when she says that Draco’s spirit will live on through you. He made such an impression on us all, that we would love to keep his spirit alive in the Tripawd community.

Take care of yourself, Fez and your future fosters. Spirit cuddles to your Angel Draco. The most stunning Shepard in the world!

Petra, Stewie and Clan

So sorrythe lottle foster dog jad to jead to tje Bridge.  One thing I know for certaiw, because of you he got to know wjat love felt like.  Je got to know some happiness ecen though his time with you was so sjort.

I applaud your commitment to continue to foster.  It takes a very special Soul to do what you do, especially after losses likenyours.   This is such a beautiful life affirming way to pay tribute to our precious Draco.

Drago is so proud of you!  I'm so so sorry you lost your foster dog.  But yes you gave him love every moment he was with you.  I've often thought if I ever win the lottery I would buy a huge place and foster.  But I'm afraid they'd all be foster fails because I'd never be able to let them go.  The fact that you can love and foster them and let them go to a loving furever home makes you a very special person.  Well done!!!

TY! I wish I could keep them all but I know in reality my home is not suitable to keep everyone of them when there are much better homes who'll provide more than I can. The reward of being able to continually rescue and save them is stronger than wanting to keep them. After seeing and learning of all what happens to them when rescue organizations aren't able to pull dogs out of high kill shelters in time, is so sad and heartbreaking. I can atleast provide a temporary home for one or two until they find their forever home. The turnaround so far has been from a few days to a week or two until they're adopted.

Honestly, it takes a huge heart and an incredibly strong person to be able to do this! You’re right your reward and theirs is HUGE!!! THANK YOU on behalf of every single one that you save! You are doing an incredible job to have them stay no longer than two weeks! Well done!!!clap

I am a failed Foster home... our latest addition is a big fella named Ted the Cat! 😉

Draco is telling all his new mates at the 🌈 Bridge... “That’s my Dad saving all those puppies!!!”

All the best for now

Petra, Stewie and his Pride Of kittens.

Thanks all! Hope everyone's New Year is going well!

I actually fostered a dog who got adopted on New Year's day! Her name was Noelle (now Elle), got her Friday night after she got spayed. She was transported from TX to VA where I picked her up after her spay and brought her home. She's a GSD/sheltie/border collie mix but she's small at 30 pounds. She recently had several puppies in the shelter she was in, but they all passed away from distemper, her last one passed away just before the New Year crying. Very sweet dog, and now she has a new loving home! Her new family hires a daily dog walker during the middle of the day while they are at work. Not many will do that so Elle is very lucky!

In other news, I posted about a pup who will be havig his front leg amputated soon. He was going to have it done this past Tuesday but the vet said bloodwork showed something high in his kidneys, so they'll have to wait and retest before amputation. This pup's name is Buster: http://tripawds.....ever-home/

Elle is a very lucky dawg indeed!  And I'm so glad you were able to care so.lovingly for her as she was preparing for her furever home.  It takes a very, very special Soul to do what you do.

Thanks for updating in Buster.  His pictures are so darn cute!  I loved the write-up that was done for him.

Well keep paws crossed that he has a furever home soon!
