Hi Draco!
Super Stu here to say way to go on the second Chemo buddy! I was terrified, so much so Mum has to give me drugs before I go in! Plus I still got pretty tired and didn't feel like eating much.
Stairs were always an issue for Mum, but not for me... She is always saying SLOWLY Stewie, SLOWLY... I got this! I hop down on my front leg, the I put my back feet down one at a time and as long as I don't speed up by the time I get to the bottom, I'm okay. I gues s that is why Mum tells me to slow down, 'cause sometimes I forget. But I haven't hurt myself yet!
To start with, She used to use an extendable leash, so that I could go at my own pace, but she could lock it at any time, in case I slipped. That way she didn't have to hover right by me and by walking slowly behind me, I gained my confidence.
way to keep up the pawsitive recovery! Three Paws Up Pal!
Sloppy kisses from Stewie👅🐾

Woot! Here's to Draco sailing through chemo! That's awesome news. The stairs not so much, I'm glad he's OK. You may want to consider a baby gate . They stay in place really well and as a Shepherd I'll bet that Draco will respect that boundary and not barrel through it.
SO it looks like the Webmaster is fitting him well? I just saw your photos and it looks like a good fit, at least from what I can tell.

Yes the harness is working pretty well for him and me, easier for me to help him get around! I did notice some small fraying in a couple of places but I don't think it's something to worry about right now.
I have one of those free-standing wooden gates:
which is easy for me to walk over it instead of using ones that are taller with a door. Draco doesn't jump over things or get on furniture, so I'm lucky that I can have a shorter gate without worrying about him getting over it. My chihuahua Fez doesn't jump either, so that's double lucky for me! When Draco was a few months old, I had a small baby gate that fell fell over him and I guess that experience traumatized him to this day in that he's afraid of being near of baby gates incase they fall close by, even though he's much bigger now. He's fine when baby gates are securely standing, but if he senses they're about to fall over, then he gets up and bolts away! I guess a positive about this is that I don't have to worry about him pushing over baby gates to get past them!Alrighty Draco, sailing through chemo #2! NO SAILING OVER WOODEN GATES THOUGH!! 🙂
Funny about Draco "remembering" his first scary experience with the baby gate . And they say dogs love innthe moment and don't think about the past! HA! One of the first times Input a leash on Happy Hannah when she was a puppy, it was part leather and part "chain". It "rattled" and she took off and got it caught in a limb. Scared her sooooo badly! I did keep it as a back up leash for my other dog though. From that point forward....and for the next nine and a half years....she would run if she so much as caught a glimpse of it anywhere jn the house or heard the slightest rattle.!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Found this guy chilling on the 2nd floor landing when I got home from work. He got up and snuck past the baby gate without it falling over... I guess he really wanted to be by the window to bark at people walking around outside. I noticed last night he was sneaking around going through tight spaces to get to Fez's food bowl, which I caught him doing - he ate all of Fez's food while I was downstairs taking the trash out! He's back doing sneaky things again.
Ha! Ha! Draco!
way to be an independent soul! But you are going to get yourself into trouble with your Dad, I think! It was very nice of Fez to share his food with you buddy, but remember, you have to keep a slim waistline! 😂
We will have to nickname you Draco, the Houdini Devlin! You are so handsome though, I can see you getting away with A LOT! 😂
Keep rockin' it Dude!

Draco waiting for his food to be served!
Right now he gets 1 cup of dry food and 1 cup of the rehydrated raw food each meal twice a day. He is losing some weight from the diet, but wondering if I'm cutting back too much due to the water content of the rehydrated food? He was getting the same 2 cups/meal in the past before the diet, but with regular grain-free dry dog food. It may be due to the rehydrated dog food is just more liquid/food than if it were just dry food because it takes 2 cups of water mixed in with 1 cup of dehydrated. But thinking about recent events, he has been stealing Fez's food, or maybe Fez is sharing?! I guess I should worry more if Draco isn't wanting to eat! I make sure not to leave ANY food on the counter island, he can easily reach it just standing!
He looks great!
I've had pugs for years and they are notorious for being....stout. I had trouble getting quad-pug Tani's weight down- when I reduced her food she would eat pretty much anything she found.
I finally learned here about green beans, which I call them Trouble Beans. Trouble was one of our early Tripawd hero's and his mom Shanna turned me on to green beans. Anyway, green beans are very filling and low calorie. I used the canned kind- always get the no salt added kind. My dogs get a few every day in their meals and we use them for treats.
Keep up the good work Draco!

I'd feed him canned green beans...
That would explain the vomit!
Canned beans have sooo much sodium...Wyatt Ray says Go Raw!

I think I tried the no salt added kind also. But I'll try it again sparingly and see how Draco does. I'll even try the raw green beans. I know Draco will eat raw celery, any cons with celery?
Be sure you use NO SALT ADDED canned green beans, are fine for dogs!
Fresh is better in some circumstances, like if your dogs will chew them. But since my doggies are vacuum cleaners instead of chewers raw veggies don't work well.

Draco is a vacuum cleaner too! I think if he eats too fast he ends up vomiting. For some years I had to use those slow feeding bowls and it'd take him about 5 minutes to eat all of his food compared to 20 seconds with just a regular bowl.
