It does sound like it's a matter of weakness that will gradually dissipate over time. He's still in recovery really, and trying to keep up with another dog is hard work, so it makes sense that he felt weak for a little bit afterward. Those two back legs did a LOT of work when they were both there, and with only one now it's doing all the work alone. Remember, dogs have all their propulsion power in the rear so when they lose half, it takes time to build up strength again.
Natalie's tips for little "snack" exercises is a great idea. Wait until he shows more energy though, just in case it is the chemo that's making him feel off.
Has he improved today?
Farley had his second chemotherapy infusion yesterday and is pretty chipper today
The oncologist suggested that perhaps he had some arthritis pain in his rear leg and I could give him carprofen; I declined this for now since I know the chemo can upset his stomach. Watching him today, I don't think he has pain but rather weakness
I see the rehab vet again next week and may try to get Farley swimming next week
It takes so little to over use iisclesstfirst, especially of a bit of arthritis is showing up Playing around with his dog buddy could aggravate the already sore miscles and joints of that back leg.
Do ask the Onco about giving him Carpofen as that’s a really good anti inflammatory.. I understand you don’t want to risk upsetting his tummy if the chemo has caused nausea. ,Maybe a couple of days after the chemo has dissipated you may be comfortable using the a carprofen.for a few days to see if it helps. Anyway…….just a thought.
Arighty Farey, keep on feeling good sweet boy👍 We’re cheering for you!

PS You might try gentle massage all around his neck, shoulder and spine and notice of he shows any tense areas. Give him a good massage before he gets up and after he’s been active…….he’ll joy it and so will you.
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Farley had his second chemotherapy infusion on the 26th; I was expecting some loss of appetite around day 5 (this happened with the first infusion), but it never happened. He's fairly active now; I still see some rear leg weakness but I don't think it's due to pain
He's earing great, but has gained weight so is now on a diet (he doesn't approve)
His cough is almost gone
All in all, he's doing well
