Oh Michelle I am so truly sorry.  I wish I had the words to make it all go away.  Please know we are all here for whatever you need.  Please try to feel all of us hugging you over the next weeks, especially tonight and tomorrow.  I wish I could reach through this screen and hug you right now and comfort you with something other than words.

Know that Cadence loves you and knows no pain.  You did everything you could for her, you fought the good fight for her, you loved her with everything you had.  It's not fair.  There's nothing we can do to change that unfortunately.  Just take comfort in knowing that she knows you loved her with EVERYthing you have.

I am thinking of you.

xoxo

Michele & Steve,
Although tonight your hearts will break in a million pieces, we will all be with you. I've let Bruno know that cadence is on her way. My heart goes out to you both. We are all here for you. Cadence will always have with her the love you gave her and you all will be left with the wonderful memories and times she brought into your lives. I'm so sorry y'all must say goodbye, but the love you all share will last a lifetime. We are here for you.

Michele and Steve,

I am so very sorry that you are going through this. What a fortunate furbaby Cadence is to be blessed with both of you. We are all here for you during this difficult time, and we are sending you huge hugs. Please know that you are in our thoughts.

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Michele and Steve, I cannot stop crying for you tonight.  This is so so so sad.  We all need a big group hug, with dear Cadence right in the middle.  You gave her your very best, everything you had and more.  She was loved tremendously and is one of the lucky ones out there to have you two as her people.  You are doing right by her and ending her pain.  Soon she'll be painfree, breathing the deepest breaths she's ever taken, and giving loud woofs to those who greet her.  I'm letting Maple and Britta know she's on her way.  I've also told Jackson tonight and he's passing on lots of sweet kisses.  My tears aren't stopping.  I know yours aren't either and will flow for days to come.  Time will heal.  In the meantime, and anytime, we are here.  Thinking of all three of you.  Remember: Cadence was the luckiest to have you.  You are giving her the kindest gift possible tonight.  She will no longer be too tired to eat or breathe.  Run free, run fast, and breathe deep, Cadence.  We love you.

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Oh Michelle, I'm so sorry. I was only thinking of you and Cadence this morning, wondering how she was going.  Freeing Cadence is the greatest gift you can give her. You are doing the right thing but I know that doesn't make it any easier.  My heart aches for you.

Many many hugs

I am so sorry. Shari is right. Cancer doesn't play fair. We just lost our second dog to cancer two weeks ago (not a tripawd) and it isn't fair. Know that we are here for you and that we are mourning with you. This last gift is the hardest gift to give because as their pain ends, ours begins.

I am so very sorry.  When I saw your post I was hoping to read that the cough medicine was still providing relief for Cadence, but as I scrolled down I see that things have taken a turn very quickly.  What a wonderful vet to be able to come out this evening.  I know what you are feeling, but you freeing Cadence.  Take care.

Michelle and Steve,

We are so sad for you tonight. The pain of letting go is excruciating, lessened only slightly by the knowledge that you are freeing your Cadence from her pain. Knowing when to let go is one of the hardest parts of this journey. While her journey ends tonight, yours continues as you learn to live without her. I can't lie, it is so hard and some days it seems downright unbearable. But as the days and weeks pass you will remember her with more joy than pain. Having Cadence in your life was a blessing — and she was equally lucky to have had such loving pawrents as you.

After Sammy died it was very helpful to me to share stories and feelings about him here. You may also find comfort in that. Cadence sounds like she was a wonderful dog and I would love to know more about her.

Please know we are all here for you — to listen, support you and care.

Wishing you strength and peace ...

Beth, Spirit Smilin' Sammy and MB Wiggly Wrigley

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.

We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.

Michele & Steve, I am so sorry to hear this sad news about your Cadence.  Your forum and blog posts have shown how much the both of you loved her.  Because of the love we know you have for her, we here on the forums have come to love her too, even though we've never met her.  I tried to be very philosophical about things when my Max passed.  I knew I had lost the best dog I would ever know, but I also knew that I had met so many new friends through his illness, friendships that still last to this day.  I hope you and Steve feel the same way about everyone you've met here; we are your friends, your supporters, your strength in tough times.  And even though Cadence's physical journey is ending, she will live on forever here with all the people who've come to know her through your stories and her beautiful photos.  I am so sorry your girl became ill.  She is a true Tripawd Warrior Princess, and she fought a very brave battle.  Sending healing thoughts to you tonight.

Oh guys, my heart aches for you, I'm so very sorry. I wish that cancer never got to this point, I wish that nobody had to ever feel what you are feeling now.

As you release her from her pain try to remember that it's the most noble and honorable thing anyone can do for their animal. To put her needs above all else, above the pain that you feel, is love in the truest sense.

I just want to say "thank you." You came here and made such an impression on all of us in such a short time, and you found room in your life to share her journey with all ofu s. The love you have for Cadence shines through all of your blog posts and everything you did to care for her during this journey. No dog could ask for more.

All of those memories, all of the good times, will never leave your hearts or your minds as much as things hurt so much right now. As you say your goodbyes, know that her spirit will always shine on you and every Tripawd family who comes here looking for hope during bleak times. Cadence will always be here at Tripawds to guide others through their journey.

You are not alone. Please come here if you just want to talk, we are here for you.

Deepest condolences are being sent your way....

My thoughts and prayers are with you all tonight.  I am sure she is running free and whole as I type this or maybe she is lying in the sun on a beautiful grassy spot!  She left for Rainbow Bridge truly loved by you both.  She was a lucky pup.

Please accept my apologies for responding so late.  I am so sorry for your loss.  Cadence was a favorite of mine - I just have a soft spot for bullies, especially tripawd bullies. There are no magic words to make it all better, but know I am sending tons of healing thoughts for your family as you face the days ahead.

RIP sweet Cadence.  Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
