Bailey had Round 5 of carbo today 6/19 and the traffic in St. Louis was a mess so it took extra long to get home. Car rides stress her out. She started acted weird a few hours ago sat up kept looking around and I noticed a vein sticking up running past her right eye. I felt her head cool body hot... took temp and it was 104.2 and 103.9. The we just took it again and got 105.4 and 105.1 with new one.
Vet ER says at first says don't bring her in and then I called back and they said the fever is too high but there is risks bringing her in because of her white count after chemo.
Anyone WHAT DO I DO?
Take her to the Vet ASAP. That high of a fever is not good. I don't care what the ER vet says. get her in. I hope you do.
Hugs

I would take her in....
can someone go with you.. perhaps sit with her and keep some cool cloths on her to try and get temp down.. take a cooler of ice water and dip the cloths in and wring them out and put them on her...
That may make the ride back to the vets more bearable for her..
let us know what is happening.. and we are all sending good healing, low temperature vibes your way!!
Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Yeah, Bailey ' mom pu me last night panicked, and rightfully so. I couldn't offer any help but to do what yo u all have said and get that ERplace to at least get her temp. down.
Even though it was very late and I think she and I were the only ones on the site at the time, I suggested that she post over here on the forums and go into the chat room also. Question. Isn't there a way that once you get into the chat rooms you can go through a procedure that lets others know you are in there? Or did I just make that up in my head?
Sorry I wasn't able to help you out more last night. PLEASE, as soon as you can, give us an update. Been thinking of you all night. Baileys a strong girl. Hang in there!
Love,
Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
I hope Bailey is ok. Ty ran some pretty big temps also. His hit 105 once. Prednisone always helped keep it down. I did take him in to vets with the real high temp. Keep us posted on how she is doing. Lori and Ty
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
I would say that most of us, while not vets, are giving you the right advice... Take her in to the ER vet ASAP, if you haven't already.
I don't think chemo is Bailey's friend - at all. Sorry.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
