We take our dogs to Camp Bow Wow, and they have been great, even sending us personal e-mails regarding supplements and letting us take Colby for no fee when Jack has treatments.  The other day, the owner's wife gave me a USA Today article about a kind of treatment called anti-angiogenics that targets the blood supply of the tumors.  I am posting the link here so others can read it, and am also wondering if this could maybe work for lung mets once they appear?

Great article! It's interesting that the article didn't mention that this treatment is actually known as the Metronomic Protocol, which I was also on. Here's a descripton.

And yes, my pawrents believed that it definitely had a lot to do with my longevity after lung mets were discovered. Until I went on the Protocol, I had never had any type of chemotherapy. I was diagnosed with mets in March, and they didn't get the best of me until October. We thought that was pretty darn good, especialy because I lived a really great life on earth up until the last 2 weeks or so.

It's very simple really: starve the tumor! Although there are slightly different variations on what 3 drugs to use, depending on the dog, it's similar for most of us. And the best part is that it can be done at home, and it's "relatively" affordable.

Our friends at Bone Cancer Dogs also have a good description of this therapy.
