Just wanted to add a PS ro my earlier post. I did do metronomics for a couple of weeks with Happy Hannah with no side effects per se. However, she did develop a uti which is something that happens quite often. Should you go that route, you'll want to make sure Napoleon drinks lots of water and take him out to pee often. It helps if you give the pills in the.morning so you can take him out often to pee.

And I had Happy Hannah on the K9 Immunity during her one year and two month Victory Tour!

Others who were in it longer can give you their input.

Another thing I'll throw out that some have used here is Lukeran (sp). It's also in the "unproven" category like metronomics ,

Jerry or Michelle can give you the link to a great discussion on Lukeran and Metronomics that Katy (Jackson) started a year or two ago.

Should I ever be faced with this journey again, I would definitely check further into Cannabis as well if mets were found.

When you can, you know we have ro see some more photos of your handsome boy!

More hugs to all

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

I can't figure out how to post pictures to the forum! The edit bar only allows to post a link from another URL & I don't have any on a shutterfly or anything like that. The "help" says that pictures can be posted via an "attachment" icon that has to be allowed by the administrator and I guess it's not yet allowed :/ I have some good looking post-amp pics of the big guy too 🙂

First of all, glad Napoleon is feeling better after some sweet potatoes and gravy! Yum!!

I'm trying to remember what was involved with the metronomics ....I think Happy Hannah had to have blood work done and then she started. If Napoleon jas had blood work recently, that may not be necessary. And, if I recall, one of the metro drugs was a compound from a specialist pharmacy and it did have to be ordered. Others will jave to chime in with better specifics for you.

I do know Prednisone cannot be used in conjunction with Piroxicam. There jas to be a wash out period when going from one to another.

I did find prednisone to be very helpful for Happy Hannah when she was dealing with mets, as well as some Tramadol every now and then.

As far as metronomics , if you want to start now, call your vet and let that be known!

And yes, many here have found acupuncture to be helpful! Again, others will jave to chime in as I didn't do that with my Happy Hannah. I think almost all who have used it fou d it to be beneficial. I think it takes a couple of treatments for it to kick in.

Sorry I wasn't much help.

Try not to get discouraged if Napoleon has a "less good day" off and on...just part of this crazy roller coaster journey.

Just continue to make every day count! You can bet Napoleon is!! Give that sweet boy a smooch for us....and maybe a scoop of ice cream...with gravy!

Love and hugs!
