Since I tout Comet's Intex swimming pool - thought I'd show  it in pics!  Comet's is 8ft D x 4ft H and cost around $100.  All you have to do is blow up the top rim and fill with water.  It does require 'shock' treatments to keep the algae away.  But you only need a cap full.

CometDog - you look fabulous in your orange float coat ! And you are obviously a very graceful swimmer. I like the one of you resting on the side of the pool best. "Look dad, my ears aren't even wet."

Very nice ! Sophie is jealous.

Hey, Comet!  You look awesome in your float coat - orange is a good color for you!  And Sophie is right - you look very graceful.  How did you manage to keep your head dry?  When I swim (I guess you can't really call it that - more of a panic splash thing) I get everyone around me all wet!  Maybe I need a float coat too - I'll ask my mom to check it out.

But just a warning to my BFF - don't go near that pool when MB is around and your mom isn't.  MB would probably push you in and then your hair would get all messed up.  Trust me - I know how it is since I now have my very own intruder.  You know who that rhymes with Zu.

Love the pictures.  Has me wondering how I could get Trouble in and out of a 4' tall pool.  Oh, to have a dog you can easily lift!

(radio announcer voice....)  Trouble ! ... not a problem ... You, too, could own your very own set of Pet Loader Stairs - PERFECT for accessing a pool such as this. Why, you would simply "hop" up these sturdy, carpeted steps and jump in to that water like nobody's business ! And when the water play is over - to make your pool safe for other tripawds - these *Stairs fold back up and store safely away until next time you want to paddle the water ! ....

(girl's fast-talking order information voice) Call now .... operators are standing by. Stairs will be shipped immediately - no need to pay for rush  shipping !

Click.

LOL!  I'm trying really hard to ignore youwinker

If I thought for even one minute she would use the stairs, I would jump on it.  But, I just don't think she would.  She was afraid of 'new things' before the surgery.

Ohhh Comet looks so cute in the water....an Esther Williams in the making.   cool Love your pool too.  Gives me an idea to get a pool like that for Kobe - maybe he wouldn't be such a scaredy cat, wuss, monkeybutt or whatever you want to call him in the water...

LOL - Tana - I think you missed your calling...

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!

I keep forgetting Comet is a old timer!  My gosh, she's had that life vest since they first came out (to my knowledge) - 2003?   A trip to Lake Mead sounded like such a great idea until I remembered taking her and Rugby on a little trip was almost impossible.

I just saw a pink floral float coat at Petsmart - it took all my power to not buy it (okay, I would have but my husband was with me and I knew he would think I was just wasting money)!

She's had her pool for now 3 years.  We store it after summer.  The first year we put down sand but this year we just bought heavy duty  tarps.

Oh, to have a dog you can easily lift!

How many times I have wished Comet to be just 10 lbs lighter!  Almost 40lbs isn't like a feather!   But there is something to be said for having a 22lbs dog like Rocket!  When I walk him, I can pick him up if I get nervous about a large dog passing by.  Plus, he will let me hold him like a baby while he sleeps.

If I thought for even one minute she would use the stairs, I would jump on it.  But, I just don't think she would.

Poor Tana.  Those stairs should be your first ebay listing!   I'm sure some one on ebay will get suckered in!

I have got to say...this is the darndest place...I went from bawling over the videos about "dog" and the tribute video to Dawn's beautiful horse, sobbing my way to this thread then laughing hysterically at Comet and  Rocket then omg, Tana trying to sell the steps...hey don't you think Comet could learn to use them???  I'll just bet she could...and don't forget we want to protect Rocket's young legs so now would be a good time to get him started!!!  And they aren't REALLY heavy....think of it as arm work...

(Magic didn't "use" them long enuf to make any impression on MY flab, but I'll just bet it works....I'm lending them out currently...)

You could start this new career by hawking all the crap Tripawd members have been suckered into buying for our overly spoiled furkids.  We'll just set up a Tripawds/Ebay-type auction site ... you can write the funny descriptions.  I'm sure, collectively, there is enough stuff to keep you busy for a long time to come ... wink

We could have used that pool at the tripawd pawty in Madison yesterday.  Tooooooo hot!!!  Could have used the picnic table as a diving board - wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
