India will be available soon from Bay Area German Shepherd Rescue. She is a beautiful front leg amputee and that is about all I know about her. Check back soon as I will post a link to her BAGSR bio when it is available.
Here is what BAGSRÂ said about her on FB:
Today we drove over to Alameda and picked up India. She had been on the back of a flat bed truck and ended up getting her front leg severely damaged. the vets took the decision to amputate last Thursday and Alameda pet Hospital were amazing.
Just look at how well this gorgeous 2 year old is doing.
An hour later she was happily installed in her foster home, was playing with Macy her new Labrador friend and all seems well.

Awww. She looks like such a great playmate for Wyatt Ray . He perked up when he heard her squeaky toy. Good thing for us that we're all the way in Texas (bad thing for Wyatt!)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Awww, dawgies, I can't believe India is STILL looking for her furever home! But guess what?! Some kind people stepped up and paid her adoption fees to help her get adopted. So her adopter will pay NOTHING (of course she will only go to the right home).  I can't speak for BAGSR but they may consider adopting out of their service area (N. CA) to someone with tripawd experience. Spread the word, OK?Â

Maybe it's a sign that we need to come get her in October. Oh how I wish. I'd never want her to wait that long for a home, but if for whatever reason she was still available . . . . I think she and Wyatt would make a great pair!

MEGAN!!!!!! Soooooo good to hear from you AND to see Samson's avatar picture!!! His presence still looms large here!! When people jave concerns about how senior dogs will do with amputation, I often use the Sammer as an outstanding example of how well "mature dogs" can do! Of course they have to be strong willed and stubborn like Sam!
