Hi all! I am in Maryland and am looking for a rear tripawd to add to my family. I live on a 200 acre horse farm and am looking for a dog with a backstory that I can use as a therapy dog in my practice. I am looking for a male, preferably between 1-5 years, low- to medium-energy, good with cats, kids, and other dogs.
Because I live on an active farm and work as a therapist in the community, I am constantly around other animals and people. So I need a dog that is confident and bombproof. My work schedule is flexible and allows me to be home often during the day. I am open to fostering as well!
I know these criteria are somewhat specific, but I have faith in my Tripawds community! If fostering, I am flexible with gender and age. Thanks in advance for any leads and please feel free to share!
-Jocelyn
Thanks for asking, and good luck in your search.

FYI: Petfinder also often posts three legged rescues in their "disabled" category.

Hi Jocelyn,
Tiny Tim is a 1 year old pit mix with a missing rear foot that was picked up by Chicago Animal Care and Control recently. It looks like he’s been through some rough times as he has wounds all over his body and something going on with his ear. But he seems really sweet and did well on his leash test meeting another dog. I imagine working with an approved rescue to get him to Maryland is going to be logistically very challenging but I wanted to put him on your radar in case it could work. Here are some videos of him:

And his info on CACC dog transfer team’s Facebook page: http://bit.ly/2MMfrsI

This guy is adorable. Thanks for the lead!
BullyPaws.org has a deaf tripawd who is currently fostered on a farm. His name is IHOP and he's in Virginia. Check him out! Great with kids, cats, other dogs, and livestock.
