Okay, Isabelle avatar is fine on both compatible view and non compatible view.
Actually Jim, as a moderator I have to turn off the compatible view to see the tool bars as a moderator. So, I leave it off when I'm on tripawds now. I has less problems with it turned off. Maybe try having it turned off, Cynthia.
I use: Windows 7, IE8

So... you saved a post, but then after editing the same post you got the error upon saving your edits? But did the changes to the post save or not? If you didn't have the "error message thingy" open when saving prior edited posts (or posting for that matter), that error may have been occurring all along. But if the posts save, what does it matter right?
Just gotta love those Microsoft unspecified errors...

You're telling me! Sorry for the inconvenience.
So, you have removed ad reset all your tripawds.com cookies? And this issue is happening on your PC in IE (not your iPhone), with and without compatibility view enabled? Sorry to guess, but you had previously mentioned a couple different scenarios.
Since you posted here, the problem is clearly intermittent, and unfortunately, beyond our control. I have been in touch with the forum plugin developers but they too are stumped. The only fix we can suggest for now is to use Firefox, but we will continue to troubleshoot the issue.
If you prefer to continue using Internet Exploder, you may keep having this issue. Consider copying the content of your replies before publishing them in case they do not post.

Hey, I just posted to "Champs" post and it saved it okay and then there was no post.
Could it be timing out? I ask because I was posting and got side tracked because the phone rang. I finished the post a few minutes later and saved it. Everything looked normal but the post wasn't there. So, could the post be timing out if you take too long, therefore not saving it? (I turned off my script error thing, so i didn't get a timed out message)

Leaving the post editor open with no action, could certainly cause timeout issues. Thnaks for the validation link. We'll continue looking into this the best we can. For now using Firefox is the best recommendation we have to offer.

Okay, I posted in 'Bernie's on the move' post and it vanished also. I wrote it and saved it and it was not there after it saved it. I wrote another one so the one you are seeing isn't the one that vanished. I did spend a little time writing it so, I'm still in the camp that there is a timing out issue. The post you see now was written fast.
Note to self, copy the post before saving it!

I think for the most part, you may be correct with the timing out issue, but it has happened to me on shorter posts also. Would the timing out be a factor if I was just signed in & somewhere on the forums for a long time....Sometimes my facial recognition program signs me back in, or I just get distracted. Somehow it never happens when I remember to copy first!
Then keep copying! Or use Firefox. (teasing) We've got the entire IT department looking into this. But, no browsing the forums would not be an issue. Timeout would only occur while the server is waiting for a post to be completed.

Gosh darnit! It's still happening! The posts are disappearing! Mine didn't appear in my condolence note to Alexei. I didn't have the editor opened very long. It saved just fine but nada, nothing…
Question: Since it actually "saved the post" can you see if its in the data base? Or can you roll back the plugin feature that was added? Something isn't jiving since the last plugin feature was added.
This surely isn't just happening to Isabelle's mom and I?

Cometdog it has happened to me a few times, too. I clicked the compatibility icon and I thought that fixed it but about 30% of the time I have to repost. I have also noted that a few private messages I sent were never received. I could go back to Firefox but there was some reason why I switched back to Internet Explorer....
