We had no idea that our first virtual race for Tripawds in 2018 would start a trend. But everypawdy these events are so much fun that we're doing it again! Join us for our next virtual event: the 2020 Tripawds Virtual Race Marathon!
Hop, Skip, Walk, Run and Race for Tripawds Everywhere
Wait! Before you think "Sorry, I'm not a runner," know this: you don't need to be a runner for this race! Everyone can play along! You can skate, roll, walk, skip, hop, trot, hike, whatever. We don't care. Just move your booty during two weeks in August. Soon you will rack up 26.2 miles to finish the race!
The 2020 Tripawds Virtual Race Marathon happens
Saturday 8/22/20 through Monday 9/7/20.
The virtual race for Tripawds is our most important fundraiser of the year. Help and join the fun. It costs just $20 to enter, and Tripawds Foundation gets $10 of your race fee, thanks to the great people who created the Racery Virtual Races app!
But First, Help Us Choose a Race Location
When you enter our virtual race for Tripawds, you'll virtually race along a pre-mapped course that appears in the Racery Virtual Races app. Along the way, you can share your progress on social media, alerting your friends and family to the work that Tripawds Foundation does for our 3-legged heroes!
Last year in the Tripawds 2019 Virtual Race, we all "ran" the Chicago Marathon. But this year, we'll take a trip somewhere else!
In 2020 our fearless founder Jerry G. Dawg will lead the way. As we share in Be More Dog, that dawg took us on many beautiful adventures during the two years that he thrived as a Tripawd.
From the Appalachian Trail
to the Continental Divide and beyond!
Our travels with Jerry took place in some of the most scenic regions of the U.S., like Colorado where he partied with Tripawd Eisen.
Now, we want you to experience Jerry's travels too! The 2020 Race for Tripawds will take place in one of Jerry's favorite spots. But it's up to YOU, to help us pick a destination for the race.

Brownie and I had fun last year! Max and Sassy enjoyed helping out on Brownie's bad days. We may run in Brownie's honor.
My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019. With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer. I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud! He will live forever in my Heart!

Awww I'm so glad you're thinking about doing it again Nancy!
Don't furget to help us choose a location OK? We'll create a route based on where people want to race.

This year I'm hoping to log more miles (walking of course) by taking the stroller for the dog(s). I haven't used the stroller much lately so I've spent some time sprucing it up and getting it ready to hit the trail.
Obie is obsessed with the stroller again and now always wants to sit in it, when he is in it Elly gets jealous and wants in too...so I don't get much sprucing up done with them helping
Can't wait to get started, my knees are aching in anticipation!

Oh Karen, that is absolutely adorable! I remember that photo last year of Obie needing to stop. That is a unique stroller. Is it a two seater?
Rene, I think you know what route I picked. lol. It's a given.

It's a jogging type stroller for small dogs, I think it's rated to 50 or 75 pounds. I've made several modifications to it over the years to suit me and the various dogs. It's supposed to zip closed but I never liked that so I added the wrap around bar to keep them contained (the white tube thing in the picture) which allows me to leave the stroller open or put the top over a bit to provide shade (they actually now make some strollers this way). This year I changed the top material to reflective aluminum to keep Obie cooler when he is riding. I also added two leashes (in case both are riding at once) which I can control from the stroller handle area. Neither Obie or Elly have ever tried to jump out but when Tani was learning to ride she was constantly trying to fly!
And now back to the Virtual Race!

That was genius! Brownie never liked being zipped in.

Karen I'm so hoppy you and the pups are looking forward to the race! And oh my you are so crafty! I love those stroller mods. Pretty sure nobody here has done anything like that to their chariot. I know I haven't. And the pic, those dogs are just so flippin adorable. Seems like a blog post to me 😉
Nancy, of course, Austin y'all!

I am super home sick right now and Maine is the closest place to home on your maps so there it is, haha. I have visions of New England, trees colorfully turning soon, and my toes in that velvety beach sand.
Maine has the bestest lobstah.. mmm ..
Bo and I have a few covid pounds to shed *cough* so if the weather chills out a bit and stays out of the 90's we may join in on the fun
Karen, those pups.. that stroller.. too adorable
Hugs,
Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry
Pawsome, Jackie! Thanks for voting. Maine is soooo pretty. It was one of our favorite places we visited with Jerry.
I hope the weather stays cool so you guys can do the race!

Anyone can join us to help Tripawds everywhere! Tripawds Foundation is hosting a virtual Continental Divide trail race starting Saturday August 22nd. But don't let the word "race" scare you: this fun event happens over two sunny weeks--in your home town!
The hike happens virtually in Yellowstone National Park.
Just hike with the Tripawds Nation beginning on Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 at 12:00AM EST. You have two weeks to finish the race while helping to raise awareness and encourage donations to Tripawds Foundation. Each time you hike and share your mileage online with the Racery app or website, you help spread awareness among friends and family. We hope it will encourage much needed donations to Tripawds Foundation.
The Tripawds Virtual Race Actualy Happens in Your Town!
Thanks to everyone who voted for a Tripawds race location. Your votes were tallied and the winner is The Continental Divide Trail! Share your progress and inspire donations!
The route winds through Yellowstone National Park, a very special place where Tripawds Fearless Founder Jerry G. Dawg roamed with the buffalo and played in the Teton Mountains before wrapping up his earthly journey. The race takes place among the most scenic spots in America. We hope you'll join the fun!
Now before you go thinking "But I'm not a hiker!"--wait! You can walk, run or hike this path virtually in your own neighborhood.
There's no hiking experience necessary!

New This Year: Convert Activity Minutes to Miles
The good people at Racery who generously donate their app's awesome features to us, are now allowing racers to convert activity-minutes to miles. For example, if you dance for twenty minutes, you can log one mile of hiking, walking or running. The Racery app does the conversion math for you, just enter it into your daily log.
