I want to make one for Smore. Is there a deadline for this? Do you just keep adding to the original leash? This idea is so cool!

Smore is my tripawd kitty who adopted me one summer evening. She had an injury to her front left leg and had to have her leg removed July 17th. She was only 3 or 4 months old at the time. Now she moves faster than some four legged cats!

Hi Tina and Smore, thanks for joining the Forums! Your future posts won't need approval.

We're so glad you like the idea. No deadline, just whenever you can create a ribbon then send it to Karen. The leash gets longer as we add more ribbons. It will be neat to have one for for Smore too!

Yay another Kitty!

Be sure you send me a PM when you put your ribbon in the mail.  I don't check the PO box daily unless I'm expecting something.

Hey Karen, a blog post about the Tripawds Tribute Leash just came up for me. We need to get this started up again! I think we will do some events next year to showcase all the beautiful heroes. If anyone wants to create their own ribbon for the leash, please post here and let us know.

Wow the Tribute Leash is almost vintage at this point! We definitely need to get this going on again. The question is, how to add to it, how to display, and where? Hmm....

I've got a lot going on the next couple of weeks then I'll be traveling for another week and a half.  When I get back I'll get the leash out and evaluate.

As I recall the leash was pretty full when it was last traveling.  We could add another length and maybe attach on a ring so that we could attach more lengths as needed.  It looks best when the leash is horizontal so the attached ribbons hang down.  If there is a pop-up type tent at events then displaying is pretty easy, I'll have to think about other situations.

We have a Tripawds party planned for October 12th, maybe the leash can re-emerge then!

The leash isn't the only thing that is vintage smiley4

LOL we are all getting to that "vintage" stage but as I see it, what's old is new again right?! icon_lol

Sally thank you for sharing that video, I forgot you did that. sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2Now I see I have to add Wyatt's ribbon to it. icon_cry And there's Frankie icon_cry, and Shelby icon_cry and .. too many others that will make me burst out into tears if I think about it long enough. It will be really nice to re-start this and give all the newer angels a ribbon too.

Sounds like a plan Karen! I like the idea to add more length. You're the engineer so I'll leave that part up to you.

Hey Donna!

If you click on the link above in the forum header that says 'Read the original blog post' you will see instructions.

I think when I started this way back when I was able to share a PO box to get the ribbons.  But I no longer have access to the PO box and I have moved so be sure you get my home address in Livermore to mail the ribbon.  There is a link in the blog post that will take you to a way to get the address.

And in case you are super speedy- don't mail me anything until after September 16.

Donna, it's really up to you! The size doesn't matter, as long as it's long enough to be tied around the leash. You can make it any way you want. And I know it will be pawesome because all of us have a spark of creativity inspired by our pets!

The size doesn't matter

Actually, it does matter.

It's important that the middle section of the ribbon is blank so that there is room to tie it around the leash without losing any writing.  Remember we also have to package and ship the leash around so nothing too huge.

Please check out the blog post for the instructions.
