Paula are you guys staying 1 night or 2? I think I will take you up on rooming with you guys then we can all chat 🙂 If you don't mind the roomie. I will give you my cell phone etc before the time so at least I can let you know when I am there or close. Will they charge you more for a 3 person they might. I can just get my own room let me know.

Michelle I think we are planning on just Friday night. We'd LOVE to have you for a roomie. It'll be fun. Even if they do charge extra for another person it's usually only like $10.00 so we've got it taken care of. Thrilled you got the time off! It's going to be so much fun meeting all you guys in person. Looking forward to it!

Michelle now you've got me wondering if we're staying one or two nights. I think puppy up is done by 2 on Saturday, so I think we were just planning on staying one night but now I'm not sure. Guess we'll have to figure that out. 😀 Im flexible so whatever you guys want to do is fine with me roomie. 😉

Yup we talked about a meet and greet somewhere dog friendly for Friday night. I'm pretty sure Donna is bringing Murphy. We thought to just grab something for supper and meet at a dog friendly park & hopefully those that live close will be able to come too with their fur babies. Guess we should start working on something a little more concrete and get this ball rolling.

Just was wondering. I know Lori (Chuck's mom) and Sherry (Leo's mom) live in that area and would meet us somewhere on Friday. I think it would be fun. I have no clue what is in that area. Yeah Donna said they are bringing Murphy.

Ok friends who live in this area help us out. We want to meet on Friday evening at like a dog friendly park or dog park so we can all meet up and you can bring your furbabies so we can all meet them. Help us out. I am not familiar at all with the area and we want to include everyone. 🙂

There is greene valley forest preserve dog park. That is the closest one to there that i know of, though you do need to fill out a permit and it does cost money...20$ for non residents per day :/. There is also many forest preserves near there, but all are on leash areas. Herrick lake is really close, danada forest preserve, are also close. Ill some research and see what i can come up with
I live in LaGrange, and if we do not find a better option, we could get together at my house. I have a nice outdoor seating area in the front (a bit of mosquitos because there is so much green stuff) and a fenced back yard (although, furries would need to be supervised since the fence is more of a suggestion than a fool proof security measure). The big downside is that I live a 30 - 40 minute drive from Wheaton, and I am guessing that most of you do not want to spend any more time in the car. The dog park we used to go to only has morning hours, and is by my house, so not useful.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
I am good with anything. We just want people to come and meet everyone. I know we talked about meeting at our hotel then going from there. Does the permit thingy have a deadline to be in???
Oh and for those of us who have Angels Sally wants us to bring pictures & those who do not that can't have a furbaby with them please bring a picture so we can get some pictures with them 🙂

I'm up for anything too; I don't have a problem with the fee for the park......thanks Christine for the offer of you home, if nothing else, maybe we can form a few carpools for the drive to your house. I CAN'T WAIT!

I was just looking at the Puppy Up Wheaton website; couldn't we meet there Friday nite? There is still a fee of $20 for non-residents and you can print a registration form from your computer. It mentions an off leash dog area. Help me out natives of this area...is this an option?
