Calling all Tripawds in the Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana area!  Join us for the Puppy Up walk against canine cancer in Wheaton, IL.  Heather and Cadence will be staffing the Tripawds Foundation exhibit, complete with the Tribute Leash.  Team Tripawds has already raised over $1500, with a couple of pledges that should take us over $2000.  I would love to meet other members of the Tripawds Nation, so please join us!

How long is the walk itself?  When I was reading the event info it said that the dog should be used to "extensive walking," so I worry that it might be too much for Murphy.  Although I was thinking that it would be fun to come meet up with everyone!

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Walk is 2 miles.  Obviously no way Otis could do it since he can only get to house #5, and even Tess cannot go the distance with her knee.  Not sure who I will bring - hopefully Otis will still be doing well by then.  Sure wish they had close parking spots for "disabled" dogs!   We were planning on just hanging out at the Tripawds booth.  Please come!

Yes Donna I don't plan on walking just hanging out and helping at the booth if needed, don't know if Paula's walking either. Just bring Murphy to hang out if you want.  It would be great to meet some of the people we only know on paper 😀 Or should I say "tavlet" like Sally?

We will try to make plans to come, just hanging out at the booth would be great for me.  I am looking to see what hotels in the area are pet friendly.  It looks like there's and Extended Stay America that's nearby, if I'm reading the map correctly.  It's about a 4 1/2 hour drive, so it shouldn't be too bad.  We would just bring Murphy and have my son stay with Cassie & Max.

I'm so excited for this event! I can't wait to meet some of the Tripawd nation! Linda and I are planning to drive down together, maybe stopping on the way to hook up with Julie and Karl. I'd love for everyone to meet Nitro, but he isn't really dog friendly and I'm afraid it'd be too stressful for him. I'm open to hanging at the booth, or if someone wanted some company on the walk I'd be happy to walk too.

Linda - are we planning an over-nighter, or doing this in one day? We haven't discussed this yet.

Paula

Nitro 11 1/2  yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms.  Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

Donna - let me know what you find for pet friendly hotels....who knows, maybe Nitro could put in a cameo appearance if we stayed at one.
