Hmmm. That seems like pretty low dose for a giant breed dog. Wyatt was on that dosage for maintenance and we upped it. If he is stil yelping, let your vet know. It could be bumped up a bit higher I believe. I'm not a vet s check with them OK? When pain meds are dialed in, they will indeed reduce the pain to manageable levels.

Hang in there and keep us posted.

You have been right on Sally...this is day 18 and he is past most of the pain. Has stitches out and started chemo yesterday. I have been blessed to have been referred to a specialty hospital that has amazing specialists. Jebbie's oncologists has discussed exciting research projects involving new drugs for osteo but I am concentrating on today. Still trying to figure out how to upload pics..thanks for all your help. Terry

Hi Thurston...wow do we have a lot in common....I mean...we look kinda alike....almost same age... and I love ice cream as much as you do!! Oh yeah and there's that minus leg thing...no biggie huh?  I'm getting around as good as before and I'm only a few weeks out of surgery. Had my first dose or that carboplatin last Friday and no side effects at all. Dad gave me some roast chicken and rice yesterday followed by some vanilla ice cream. Don't know what that doc was talking about with tummy problems...anyway just at the beginning of things so its been great reading about your journey and how great you're doing. Gotta go for now but keep in touch..your friend Jebediah

LOVE your name and your cute photo too, you're a real stunner sp_hearticon2

So, you've just started carboplatin which is great news, and no side effects!

And your Dad is so right, there are some great developments in cancer research, new ways of fighting that poopicon disease

Wish you all the best, XL tummy rubs to you and hugs to your Dad !

Ohhh I'm so sorry you got your wings Jeb. That just breaks my heart, cancer can be so mean! icon_cry Please watch over our earthbound Tripawd heroes, and run free like a puppy with all our beautiful angel friends at the Bridge. We will miss you sweet boy.

Terry, I'm so sorry. Please feel free to share more about Jebbie's life in Coping with Loss if and when you feel up to it. I can help you with photos if you'd like, just Private Message me.

Your boy was a fighter, and in his short time as a Tripawd he proved that yes, giant breed dogs can get around on three legs and have a good quality of life. His legacy will always be a part of us, I'm just so sad cancer took him too soon. We are deeply saddened, and send many condolences your way.

Oh dear.... im so sorry to hear that jebediah has earned his angel wings. I know there are no words to Express the void they leave in our hearts. No matter how long we have with them its just not long enough.

No dog, cat  or human should have to deal with this horrible heart breaking disease. It doesn't lessen the pain but please know that you did all that you could and jebbie loved you soooo much for it.

Thank you for sharing jebediah's journey with us.  He will be an inspiration for fellow tripawds.

Big hugs,

❤Bev, Moe cat, autumn angel Roane & angel dog Gypsy
