So glad to hear this...there is still hope. And like the sign in my kitchen says 'Faith makes things possible, not easy". It's not over till the fat lady sings....I could go on and on. Here's hoping that by this time tomorrow Pofi is well on his way to a full recovery! Love you guys, hang on for just a little longer.

Paula and Nitro

Nitro 11 1/2  yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms.  Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

I was thinking of you and Pofi over the weekend (and for weeks) and about what a few others had said about whether this could be a disc injury.  From a "human" standpoint - I ruptured a disc in my neck a few years ago.  It was incredibly painful - part of the disc was pushing against the nerve on my spinal cord...and caused me to lose strength and feeling in my arm and hand - it was so, so bad.  I had surgery to remove the disc at the C6/7 in my neck and the relief was immediate.  The same type of thing could be EXACTLY what is going on in Pofi's case.  It's amazing how something so small can cause such a big problem.  I'm so sorry that you and your family and Pofi are going through this - I am thinking good thoughts for you and really feel confident that it is NOT cancer.  Thanks so much for updating us. We are all thinking and hoping good things for you!

and just one more thing....  You could not have prevented this.  It would have happened either that day or the next or the next - regardless of what it turns out to be.  If it is a disc injury it was waiting to happen....just like mine.  I rolled over in bed and it happened to me (and I wish I had some sexy badass story to blame it on!!).  I don't disagree with your reasoning at all - just be kind to yourself.

Much love and hope to all of you.

Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Friends:

While we got our answer today, it wasn't the one we hoped for.  The cancer is back in force in his spine.  It is time for our brave and noble warrior to rest.

We have brought him home to enjoy a burger and for the simple and pure pleasure of having him sleep in the bed snuggled against us, at least once more (a mattress has come downstairs to the floor of the room that was actually our bedroom when he was a pup).  Think gentle passing thoughts for him.  I think it will be some time tomorrow.

Lisa, Minneapolis

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Oh Lisa and family ... this was not the news any of us wanted to hear. Pofi is a warrior - always .. he will always be a fighter but the gift you are giving him, the final release from his tired body, is the greatest gift and most selfless thing you can do. Your journey as of late has reminded me of Shelby (I never did the MRI as we knew the cancer had gone to her brain from seizures) but the lack of ability to walk... I am so sad for you. I am in tears actually right now.

I wish I could do something to ease your pain... but know that I (and all of us here) will hold you in our hearts in the days and weeks to come. You are our family!!! And we stand together as one.

I am sorry Pofi's journey on earth is ending but rest assured, there are many, many angels waiting to greet him over the bridge.

Sending you love and peace!

I've been refreshing since I saw you online.  I can't stand this stupid disease.

Strong and peaceful thoughts for a night full of gentle memories. Team Pofi now has a new mission- support for mom and dad since I know the troops will rally at the Bridge to greet Pofi.

Team Pofi always....always...

Yes, Pofi is with you now and he is home surrounded by everything and everyone he loves.

All we can do right now is, as Karen said, send you strength and peace aof d a knowing that Pofinis ready for the gifts of release. He kicked the hellout of their stupid statistics and, crammed in more living and loving and joy in these past several months than many dogs ever do in a lifetime. You gave him that gift of extended time and be welcomed it. Now, you will give him the ultimate gift that he also welcomes.

Although our tears fall hard and our hearts are breakkng, we are all gathered together and surrounding you with our love and our strength and our gratitude for the true privilege of getting to know and love Pofiheart

Surrounding you with Pofi's eternal love and his eternal light
