Tripawds are always special. And there's something extra special about senior amputees. That goes double for Tripawd Bulldogs, who some say can't make a good Tripawd just because of their body shape.
Well, today's Tripawd Tuesday turns the table on that theory! Join us to celebrate Winnie the three-legged senior Bulldog. What a joy to learn about this special senior hero, who we learned about when her mom Holly shared her inspawrational story with us over Instagram.
Winnie the Three-Legged Senior Bulldog Keeps on Beating the Odds
This is my Bulldog Winnie. She’s 11 years old and has had her front right leg off 5 years ago due to synovial sarcoma.
Winnie's lived over half her life on three legs and we were told a Bulldog would never survive on three legs because of there brood chest stature.
She’s shown everyone that just because Bulldogs look cute and funny looking that they are so strong and resilient creatures.
11 years 3 months old and vet says she’s still in amazing health minus a bit of arthritis and a cataract… my sidekick is still doing well… winnie i love you so much

I am filled with hope to hear of another EB having to deal with this successfully. My 5Year old George was hit by a car on March 1 the only but devastating injury is his right leg and the nerve damage that we pray may return but with BP injuries it may not. He is bouncing around fine. Gets tires easily and can do as much. I am struggling while watching him struggle just how in the world are we suppose to go forward withour damaging the good limb with stress?? This is fresh for me and I am really having a hard time accepting the possible good future I pray that he will have. He just loves to run the farm and play and it makes me cry every day that he cant. Any encouragement or advice would be a blessing. Thank you Diana
Hi Diana,
I'm so sorry to hear about George. How very lucky he survived the car hit! He sounds like a spunky guy who can do great on three legs! We've had quite a few English Bulldogs in our community over the years. Winnie's story is one we shared, so I'm not sure her people are going to see it here.
I really encourage you to start a new topic in Presentation and Diagnosis. That way we can all follow his story more closely, and help you better. We have lots of tips and help, and encourage you to check out the Tripawds Start Page for some tips. I'll look for your new topic in the other Forum OK?
