THAT MUG!!! 🙂 🙂  SOOOO MUCH JOWL TO SMOOCH!!! 🙂   I LOVE HIS JOWLS!!!

Hesw really quite furry.  Kinda' fluffy.  His coloring is very handsome too!

He certainly seems to know he is home!!   How is he when you come home?  Apparently he doesn't vother to move his sleepy vutt of the couch, but does he wag??

Does he walk on a leash well, or did you have to teach him?   And what a good boy for not weeing in the house!

So glad you posted this.....and no more slacking!!   You know we love pictures around here!!

Hugs

He looks like a sweetie. He has similar markings to a doggie buddy of mine who is a corgi / staffordshire terrier mix.

I'm happy you have a new friend!

Boy did I miss a lot! So happy for you David! I know how you feel, unsure of this decision, the timing, and really, the actual doing of it. I felt the same with Grizzly (a.k.a Tiny Devil); is it too soon? Is he the right one? Should I even be doing this at all? As it turned out, all answers were a big fat YES! But truth be told, I still feel some guilt about it. How can I love my tiny bundle so much without feeling like I'm dismissing my heart dog? But he has helped me heal, no doubt about it. Keep those pictures coming....he's adorable!

Now that is one smoochable mug that Mr. Baxter has!

I second Paula - all those standard doubts/thinking about a new dog. Speaking for myself, getting a dog that is part cyclone adds another set of questions. Six months in with Roxy and I'm still struggling with pet names for her - can't bring myself to use any that I used for Isa but the more generic ones just come out of their own volition.

yep, lots more pictures!!

That picture of Baxter shows pure contentment!  He's looking very "at home" there with you!  Handsome boy there and of course still loving those ears!

Oh David! Please forgive me... you’re not going to believe what I thought when I read in your other forum that “Baxter had been keeping Rocky’s place warm etc, weeeeeell... I’m a little embarrassed to tell you that I though Rocky’s ‘lookalike’ toy was now named “Baxter!!!

Thank the dogs you posted a link to this forum ‘cause lord only knows I’d be calling your lovely stuffed toy “Baxter” and wondering how you are getting this fella out for his pee walks!!!

So, now that I am literally on the same page as everyone else... CONGRATULATIONS DAVID! WELCOME HOME BAXTER! WAY TO GO ROCKY!

Congratulations are in serious order David. You went to see Baxter because you were guided. I’m sorry to say that nopawdy MADE you bring him home... I am absolutely thrilled for you! And it is perfectly natural to want to feel that sense of guilt for Rocky’s sake, but that’s such a human emotion. Rocky is as happy as a clam up at the 🌈 bridge! Bouncing around telling everypawdy that his Daddy has finally found a playmate too and it was exactly the one he had been telling you about!

Baxter, you couldn’t have found your pawrent any sooner could you?! You made sure that you waited for him, you are a gooood fella! Oh and those ears! I do believe you have some Royalty in you for sure my lovey! I mean have you seen the queens corgis of late?! They would be muttering jealous words in the corner if they could see your lovely ears! My Gongases, never mind. look at those eyes! They could sell a fridge to an eskimo for goodness sake!!!

And Rocky... Bless your big beautiful spirit for sending Daddy this new friend! You knew it was time didn’t you love?! And you even lay beside him to tell him that it really is okay for Baxter to sleep there now! I totally get the penny’s around the car dream now!!!

Sorry for the mix up David! I think Baxter is one very lucky puppy and you are on you way to healing! Well done!

All the very best for now

Petra, Stewie and his gang!heart

I was wondering when we were gonna see Baxter's first Christmas!!!  He probably didn't even know there was a Santa Claus until  he found you! 🙂

That's sich a great picture!  He's so focused!   Curious...has he shown any interest in tennis balls?

And I looooove those ears! 🙂

Nope. He completely ignores them. He got a little stuffed football with a squeaker in it; he's already destroyed it. I had another, different stuffed football that belonged to Rocky that I never put away. Baxter found it and did a number on it too. I've tried to get him to play ball in the back yard, but he's pre-occupied with squirrels out there.

LOL!!!!   Yeah....chase a swuirrel or a tennis ball....squirrel wins everytime!!

Although, Baxter does seem to tend tomprefer football over a game of tennie, but he's just not interested in "chasi v it"!   Hesq thinking, "You threw it, now YOU go get it!"   Smart boy! 🙂 🙂

um, yeah, we're slowly but surely getting rid of blinds around this house!  lol they don't last for nothin'!  Even curtains lol ... in our front bedroom, they're toast!  pulled right out of the wall ..but to be fair, that is the best place to watch the road from - the window is low enough that all of the dogs can just stand and look out laughingWhen we replaced our living room bay window and our family room patio door, we got the kind with the blinds between the glass - best thing ever!!!!
