It is one month today since the Pie left us, a fact I’m still struggling to get my head round, let alone my heart, but 9th March is also significant for another very important reason, because TODAY IS THE MEGASTAR’S TWO YEAR AMPUVERSARY! It’s two years today since Meg ditched her bum leg and embraced her new MegaStar life on three, and, grief-stricken as we are for our beloved Pie, we are determined to celebrate. Meg will be updating her blog very soon  – I keep nagging her to do it. But in the meantime, here is a video tribute to the dog they said could never cope on three legs.

Meg, Mutt, aged around 12, adopted 31/12/2009. Sudden explosive right elbow fracture 06/12 (caused by IOHC), diagnosed with End Stage Arthritis 03/15, Total Elbow Replacement 08/15, problems with healing leading to skin graft & skin flap surgery, Chronic Infection leading to implant breakdown. Became a Tripawd 9th March 2016.

Lessons from the Megastar’s pack:

Don’t be satisfied with a ‘no’ when you know in your heart the answer is ‘YES!’

Don’t take a single moment for granted because none are guaranteed.

Clare is an artist with a camera.

Happy ampuversary MegAStar!  It’s hard to celebrate with a heavy heart but you are an amazing ambassador for Tripawds everywhere and I for one am inspired by your adventures!

Hoppy 2 year Ampuversary Meg.  You are truly a Megastar.  I am so proud of you doing so well.  Clare you have wonderful talent taking all these pictures.    Yes, Elsie Pie even made a cameo I loved it.  Thank you so much for sharing this video and we truly understand how hard it is to celebrate when you still are grieving.

If ever there as a song to fit Meg it has to be that one!  Don’t fence me in indeed!  I tried to count how many pictures the Megastar was wet in but lost count somewhere in the middle.  But pretty sure water is Meg’s “happy place” for sure!  I’m sad to think there will be no more new Meg and Pie pictures because those two go together like peanut butter and jelly but made my heart happy to see our Pie in some of these too.  But I also know our Pie is busy “pottering” at the bridge whilst she watches over you two and enjoys all the treats she can eat there without worrying about getting too fat as she and Billie frolic under Grandpa’s indulgent eye.  Happy happy two years Meg!  You truly are the little dog that “could”!!!  You are such an inspiration to so many who wonder if their dogs can manage on three.  You show not only can they manage they can thrive!  As always Clare please give some kisses to our Megastar and tell her they are from Auntie Linda! ❤️❤️❤️

Don’t fence her in, indeed! Nopawdy can, no siree. What a great song for a great Tripawd warrior princess.

Miss Meg-a-Star, you are the most resilient, courageous, strong and beautiful Tripawd on the planet! All Hail the Meg-a-Star on this momentous milestone.

You have us all doing the hoppy dance Clare, we are rejoicing in the journey you’ve taken with your dear girl, and so happy to be along for the ride. To see how far you’ve both come makes our hearts soar with joy. And those photos take our breath away, you really are a talented shutterbug at capturing the essence of Dog.

Miss Pie is no doubt smiling and dancing in heaven for this huge, huge occasion.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™

HAPPY TWO YEARS ON THREE MEG-A-STAR!!! 🙂 🙂

Once that bum leg was gone you became a wild and crazy puppy again…..and have remained such ever since!! 🙂   You even brought out the playful puppy in Elsie Pie on occasion!  You and your Mum went through soooo much emotional and physical agony (not to mention financial agony) to get to this point!  I know you’ve never looked back (not quite as easy for humans) and just flow from one glorious mud puddle to the next! 🙂

And yes Clare, your ability to capture the “essence of Meg” and the “essence of Pie” is pure genius!!!   You are sooooo talented, so creative….unbelievable!  The Soul of a Poet who ises a camera as effectively as the mighty penway-cool

I hope you realiw how privileged and so darn lucky  we all feel to be on the receiving end of all your great talents! 🙂

Lots of love

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

You people are the best of the best of the best. Thank you for celebrating with us. When you talked about holding us up after Pie died, my goodness you weren’t kidding, were you! The support of this community, of you, our Tripawds family has meant more than I can possibly express. You have kept us going. And now you celebrate with us as well. Thank you for all your lovely comments. I am enormously proud of Miss Meg and her resilience and sheer joy in living make her the most wonderful, life enhancing and enriching companion – when I’m not tearing my hair out…

Those fence photos cracked me up, Sally. When Meg first came to live with me, my neighbours had to rebuild their fence three times because she kept breaking through, or under or over to go and see their giant rabbits. Thankfully, the MegaStar charm seduced them – the neighbours, that is, not the rabbits, the rabbits were blind to it.
