well you know from the rambling topic I was on the kitty search yesterday.  One of the vets fosters kitties along with her SIX and they live with a standard two year old poodle who is apparently goofy.  She brought in 12 of various ages and the first five year old she plopped in my lap smelled so bad I almost puked on it.  I think it was the soft kitty carrier that I would have sent straight to the dump.  You can wash the hard ones!!  I have no idea how many other kitties she has because she won't tell.  The big kitty (17 pounds) really needs a forever loving home (long story about lost home and people who don't spend time and love really really wanted), but with Magic right now, HE is my labor/time intensive furkid and I just can't add another just as intensive, it wouldn't be fair.  So I'm thinking, I have now gotten to this point, it is really meant (i bought some dry shampoo for Magic..cuz of the pee...and his massage person, didn't want her to get icky...and bought two containers...I get home and one is for cats...go figure, that was a week ago)...so there are absolutely adorable kittens and a lovely YOUNG mother who just wants to get away from these things hanging on her tits...not to mention the other kitties who go...MILK, YUMMY..boy she was thrilled about that.  Then a little kitten climbs in my lap and spends the next two hours there while all the other kittens are flying around the room...so it is between the little kitten and the young mommie...Luckily Pat (Ruthie's mom) went with me so young mama (now named Scotch) has a new lovely home with Pat and Casper the Friendly Ghost has a new home with Magic and me.  Casper will not grow up to be the cutest kitty on the block, but I think he picked me....he of course is a SICK one...sigh....respiratory infection, vet thought another week would be good on the meds and today I went and got some ointment for his eyes, because as you will see, pink rims really show up....these are actually lousy pics, but I wanted to post something (I am also going to suggest the vet who fostered take the 15 off my bill for the ointment..we see her Friday for next set of shots)...he is currently curled up asleep in my lap.  He has one blue eye and one green eye and a tiny pin prick of some color on his forehead...otherwise he is a Magic mini me.

I carried him most of the time when he wasn't in HIS bathroom then this afternoon put him on the floor and as he scurried around, Magic started following him everywhere, hoppity hop, tail wagging and looking interested and alert...and licking him whenever he got to him.  Now Magic hasn't been eating much today so I hope he wasn't tasting him....I had forgotten so many things about kittens, it has been 17 years, but he goes like crazy then crashes...and yesterday, last night and today (well this late afternoon) he crashes in my lap.

I am checking into a lean in for my internal chain link and hoping that will be a possibility (lots of thick ivy..holding chain link to 38 yr old wooden fence)

so let's see if I can get the pic thing to work.....

Ohhh, Magic's kitten.  So cute!  But wow, good luck Diane.  Good thing you've got tripawd power to get you through all this excitement!!! way-cool

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com

Oh, I'm so excited!  You'll forgive me for telling you not to look at kitties!   I love the two of them together.

Casper probably thinks he is a 3 legged giant!

Her Retired AvatarComet - 1999 to 2011

She departed us unexpectedly  January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

well it is really weird, because Magic is used to three older kitties...let's see, the youngest was OJ who was 7 when we got Magic...and they all KNEW NOT TO RUN (running kitties look very much like dinner to a wolfdog)....but the new kitten...well Casper just scampers really fast (geez I hope he doesn't get under the computer desk and chew cords)...SO I am keeping a really close eye when they are both running around...and Magic is acting like a puppy chasing the kitty....and I put a kiddie gate across the bathroom but only while I am present...otherwise he is closed in the bathroom...I also have to remember to close the back door when the kitty is out...so Casper dashes in and out the kiddie gate and Magic is BOUNCING outside it...I hope it is all in fun....right now I think Casper can probably outmaneuver Magic, but I don't want him to be sticking his little nose into Magic's BIG nose that is right above the big teeth.  Magic has NEVER been swatted by a cat and doesn't know they come with claws...so far Casper has not swatted him....he has to be a brave little kitty because he is only as big as Magic's paw....2 pounds 7 ounces....

I am hoping this gives Magic a real emotional boost but doesn't make him think my attention is on someone else...fine line my friends, fine line!!!!!!

tomorrow is massage day and Ruthie is going to get her first massage!!!!

THanks for all the nice things you guys said about little Casper (who just bit me on the wrist trying to eat my watch...ouchie...little sharp teethies)....did I say he has one blue eye and one green eye?  wonder if those will change.

Casper was mainly for me, but I am really surprised by Magic playing like this.....and grateful.

Kami (Mackenzie and Kobe's Mom)

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!

I just saw your post after I posted Ge'Lena…of course I forgive you…YOU WERE PROBABLY RIGHT!!  Especially since of course I get the sick one (naturally it picked me…what,l like sticking meds down throats??????)  boy when you blow up the pic you can see how intimidating Magic must look to the little guy!!    I didn't see Casper's mother but she was all white….do you suppose….nah, cats aren't that stupid.

I also noticed that Magic actually looks a little chunky and today I had to beg him to eat every small  bite....I keep thinking he is wasting away but he sure doesn't look like it in THAT picture does he!!  GOOD

Diane ! That's crazy - and wonderful !! Good for you ! That kitty was just born to be yours. He DOES look like a little Magic-mini-me.

What an adorable little kitty. Magic looks completely enthralled with his new little sibling.

Watch out for those sharp little teeth ... you can get cord protectors that "wrap" all the cords into one and encase them in a sheath-type of thing. I know they sell them at IKEA in Canada - don't know where you'd get such a thing in California ... If you want me to pick you up some and send them - let me know ! I'd be thrilled to shop for someone else ! laugh

I love the little guy, and he looks so cute with Magic. I'm not sure Magic doesn't think he's a snack, but it sounds like you are managing that situation well.  It has always amazed me how animals find us - it is for a reason.  I know Trouble came to our house because she needed extra care - we fought her allergies all these years and then the cancer.  None of her littermates are still living.  She's here for a reason, and Casper is there for a reason also.

Watch those sharp little teeth!  Your arms will look like a war zone!

you should see the vet's legs (the one who has the million cats...Casper's first stop in his life)...I could not believe her legs...she had on a skirt and I told her she should at least wear pants around the kittens and she said oh the other gal there who fosters says they just climb up her pant legs...um, yeah, the operative word being her PANTS' LEGS not her FLESH....so far he is being good about his claws and teeth..he is fascinated with my watch and I wear Bob's gold bracelet on that wrist which thank God is a man's bracelet so is thick and sturdy..he better stay away from my skinny little one on the other wrist!!  But his little teeth sometimes get the skin...but if he tries to bite fingers in play I stop that...

well it is 5:45 AM, I put his eye drops in about 5 and played with him a little...hoping he will go potty and I'll bring him out soon....Magic is laying outside so the door is open which means I'd better not take my eyes off the little guy...although it will probably take him a bit to figure out the pet door...unless he sees Magic go through it then all bets are off....I won't know what to do when my day doesn't start at 4:30-5 with jamming pills and squirting meds....maybe that's my fate...need to hang out a shingle!!  Poor little Casper, first I get a dirty look from Magic with his first pill of the day, then down the hall with the eye stuff...Casper is just purring up a storm until he gets what I'm about.....had to play with him for a whille to get him to forget it....off to amuse the baby...boy I hope Magic doesn't think he is a snack (I take back everything I said about getting him anything he will eat)...I'm not sure Magic has ever been around a kitty that small ... he is the size of one of the chihuahuas, maybe he thinks he is a dog...
