Woo Hoo! Fortis celebrated his 11 month ampuversary today! Or as his mom does, he celebrated his 11 month ampuversary weekend. We went down to the river for a splash, played with his favorite comet toy in the back yard, then came the tequila shots with dad and a nap in the Texas sunshine (leave it to dad to be a bad influence ). Tonight he topped off the celebration with liver flavored doggie ice cream for dessert with some juju magic in the back ground! Now as he sleeps soundly by the fire place, Fortis' pack reflects back on 2010 and counts their blessings for a beautiful and magical year spent together.
Thank you to our tripawd family for all your love and support throughout this past year and may you all have a very blessed 2011!
Fortis' Mom
Whooohoooo Fortis. You are such a rock star.
I hope you enjoyed your big day, I mean weekend....everything sounds fantastic. We'll do a little celebrating here on your behalf. I'll have to see if Barney left any tequila behind (I'm pretty sure he made a sizable dent in the good stuff) and mix up a little something to toast with.
Congrats to the entire family on your big day...after all, you wouldn't have made it this far without them. 🙂

WOO HOO Fortis - way to go!
Congrats on reaching this milestone!!!!!
Zack, King of Dogs, 1996 to 2010
Zack lived a full 14 years, even to the end.
The joy and memories he provided us will last a lifetime.
Surviving him is his sister, Izzy, a 12-year-old boxer mix quadpawd.
And the latest addition, Zula, an 11-month-old pit bull mix tripawd.
WooHoo indeed! Fortis, big boy, you rock. Period.

Look who is here?!! It's Fortismom! YAY! More Girl Power! I hope dad isn't still doing "shots"!
OH MY DOG!! Did dad put the Christmas tree on your head, Fortis ???????? (see pic #1)
Happy Ampuversary to our big lovable, super handsome, hat wearing super dog!
Comet says she loves that you liked her toy so much to destroy it! That's means a lot!
Keep celebrating Fortis family, we will be!
(Psssssst. Fortismom - if we need to do an intervention with Fortisdad to get him to shave and shower, let us know! It'll be our little secret.)
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Fortis,
You are a dog's dog! A man among dogs! A dog among men! (and I only drank a few beers and 2 margaritas ) What I mean to say, is that you TOTALLY ROCK!!!! Sounds like you had the best ampuversary party weekend ever!! I didn't even know they made liver flavored ice cream! I think I need to take a nap in the sun now..........
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

.......please don't notice that there is no sun now, I promise to take care of that tomorrow ( or at the very least, sleep with the lights on)

Fortis the Fighter, you are almost at your year mark!! We look forward to celebrating that time next month! Right around the time when Chloe turns double digits (oh my!).
Keep being an inspawrational tripawd!
-Nicole and Chloe
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Happy Ampuversary, you great big wonderful guy! Sounds like mom planned a great celebratory weekend for you (and for the humans). Tequila shots - wow! No wonder you have problems getting around sometimes. We are wishing you many, many more ampuversaries to come and cannot wait to see what kind of party you have for the big 12 month right around the corner.
The pictures show a wonderful year behind you, and we're looking forward to an even better 2011.
OK, Pattie, fess up - what did you do with Brett? Is he tied in the closet? Is he still passed out from too many tequila shots? Did he lose his computer privileges? He really didn't let you post an ampuversary without putting up a fuss did he? Regardless, we're happy to see you sharing the fun.

Super Yay Fortis and Family!
I am so glad we can celebrate your 11 months!!! May there be MANY many many many many more to come. (I was going to type many 11 times but I figured that you get the gist :)). I hope your ice cream was yummy and you get your appetite back real soon.
I can't imagine who would make liver flavored ice cream, but tequila shots sound good.
We send you hugs and happy good wishes from the Pacific NW.
