I did! I've been listening to podcast episodes in the car at work, and heard his interview. It's definitely on my shopping list. I found two clinics with rehab certified staff nearby, but until there's more than curbside service I will have to learn on my own. It's probably a good idea to get video of gait and zoomies and various things in case I need to show a vet who can't get behaviors if she's terrified in a clinic.
Yes, definitely former, it feels like another lifetime ago. I went straight to an emergency clinic, and didn't see much in the way of aftercare for anything we saw. From there I ran a little ranch in New Mexico and used my skills there. I'm still pretty useful for first aid and support therapy, but it seems like I lost a lot that I didn't use.

I know it’s ruff to have the curbside service as the only option in most clinics right now, but I have heard of some therapists allowing one pet parent into the clinic so you may want to check iwith the therapists you located.
And yes videos are always an excellent idea. Front, side, back, all good to help notice of any gait changes have occurred.
You have an interesting background with animal care. I love New Mexico, where did you live?

Oh wow that IS ranch land! We just drove Raton Pass recently, in the snow. Always an adventure in that part of the country!

Ah, yes, real winters...we just had a little taste of it for about a week. Our equipment operators need to spend a week in nm or CO for some training! It's a harry road, but if it's open common sense usually gets you to the other side in one piece. They close it at the drop of a hat now.

Well it's been a tough week, but the best of it is Bella and her harness training has gone really well.
One of bell's bugs is her love of chewing fabric. She chewed her collar and ziggy's collar, blankets, plush toys, rugs, towels, sheets... I think the only thing that has been safe is the furniture. She seems to be growing out of it and directing most of the chews to her toys now.
So, we have been training. I've been putting various styles of harnesses we've accumulated over the years on her and rewarding with lots of treats for a variety of reasons. I've only had to redirect her a few times, and we worked our way up to lots of activities and longer times over the past few weeks. She's up to several hours now! I honestly forgot it was on one day and so did she! We're up to at least four hours now without any pestering of the fabric or signs that it feels weird or bothers her.
I'm also still in the process of researching insurance, and I have to take a lot more breaks than bell needed from the harness!

Good for you! Do not have any other vet visits before you sign up with a pet insurance provider. Whichever plan you select, be sure to request a complete Medical Records Review. This should prevent any surprises due to preexisting conditions. Review all our pet insurance articles and interviews for complete details.

So far I've only found one company that does them, but I'm only on the forth. I can't tell you how much I want to just stop and choose one. It's definitely an overwhelm for me. The bottom line is that they will only make decisions that are safe financial bets for them. Bell isn't going to be covered for much other than illness or maybe hit by another car. Injuries and accidents are likely to be attributed to her tri status, so I'm very tempted to just get the one I can afford at the level of wellness and exams coverage. I don't know why I'm so disappointed with their answers, but it's taking a toll. At least the list is narrowing pretty quickly. Ugh... Only 8 or so to go.
Little dash is going for his last booster and a meet and greet with the new vet, and I think I will send bell in the building if only for a test run on behavior and anxiety level. We may have to choose the fear free place or her original vet. Maybe whatever I choose will offer a multiple dog discount.

Pet insurance research is exhausting but don't give up, it will be worth the effort. As long as you have the medical review done, you will know exactly what will and will not be covered. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience. Feel free to share in this pet insurance forums post.
