Willow’s left front leg and shoulder were amputated to remove cancer.  But her story isn’t about “only having 3 legs” because she doesn’t let that stop her from doing anything she wants to do.  Willow was already a Tripawd when she came to live with us.  The rescue’s adoption coordinator suggested she would be a good fit for my family.  Although concerned about having a “special needs” dog, we fell in love with Willow and brought her home.  We quickly found out that being a Tripawd isn’t a disability.  Willow runs all around the yard including up and down hills, chases squirrels and lizards, digs holes in the dirt, and enjoys life to the fullest.  Willow is definitely not “special needs” but she is most definitely special and amazing!

Willow was living in a rescue when she was diagnosed with cancer and had her amputation surgery.  I was told that she had malignant synovial cell sarcoma.  She had no other treatment but the amputation surgery and that was 28 months ago.  She's now about 12 years old.

Wow!  I'd never seen a front tripawd dig before.  That's incredible, Willow!  You're a charmer with a charmed life.  Thanks for sharing.  Good to have met you!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!
