Patricia by the way Arktik is so happy i think you are doing everything right. As they say, just Be More Dog . Arktik is thinking about mets. Just keep doing what you're doing, and enjoy that happy boy!

You can tell by the videos he loves you dearly! And you give that love right back, and that's all Arktik wants. Just do what is right for you and Arktik. There is no right or wrong answer.

When he is rested from the chemo post more videos.

My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019.  With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer.  I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud!  He will live forever in my Heart!

I meant "Arktik is NOT thinking about mets.

Hi Patricia.  Arktik looks great!  Yes, boy can he run fastsmiley4 He is adorable!

I was thinking about your question of knowing or not knowing.  I think if it were me, I would only want to know if it would change my course of action towards Arktik.  If either way you have decided that it's time for Arktik to be a dog and love life and no more intervention, then why bother?  It would only cast a grey cloud.  However, if a yes answer would cause you to continue the fight in some other way, then get the xray.  For me, there comes a point where I have to do what I can and accept the outcome, knowing I did all I could.  That being said, Arktik looks so happy and healthy and living life with gusto I think he has another 10 yearssmiley2

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the silence...work has been insane the past couple of weeks. One more to go and I will almost be on vacation 🙂

Arktik is doing very well. He is enjoying life like a 2 year old puppy would (don't try to tell him he is 10 and on three legs...he doesn't care!). I will try to post few videos tomorrow or Tuesday.

Thanks for all your comments about doing x-rays or not, as some of you mentioned Arktik seems to be doing well, and maybe we can just enjoy the next 10 years smiley2 together without trying to worry about anything.

Talk to you soon!

Hi Patricia!  Yay for Arktik!  I'm sure you are looking forward to being able to spend more time with your boy this summer.  We can't wait for more photos and videos of this unstoppable pup! sp_hearticon2 Stacy

Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the long silence. We have just been busy enjoying life and the amazing weather 🙂

Arktik is on his way to his last chemo treatment! We are happy to say that we will be done with the treatment (and the big expenses) but on the other hand it comes with a little bit of anxiety about the rest. We have decided not to do another chest x-ray for now. One of the reason being financial (we could always do it at our regular clinic instead for 1/3 of the price) and the other reason being that it would not change anything as we already did everything we could. If there would be mets I think I would just be devastated. On the other hand, I will like to see that there are none ..(I know...it doesn't work like this!)

On a positive note, Arktik is being his puppy self. Always happy and active. Here are some photos and videos!

We have been visiting friends! Arktik was quite happy about this even if they are not exactly his size.

Then we had to stop for a good drink! Arktik enjoying the cool water a lot, even if he took a little dive..it did not offend him one bit.

He likes to show the way to his little buddies 😉

And here's a couple of photos 🙂

I cannot tell you jow Happy, how absolutely  delighted  I am to see these videos!!!   You have such an adorable pa.and a well behaved one!  In that first c5ideo it was so cute how they turned back around to join you.  Not gonna a let you get out of their site!

And to see Artik '"lead the way" for you and this doggy pack to follow......good job Artik.  This pack is truly bonded😎  And truly loved❤

Apologies of you've already told us.  The names and ages of your other cute pups.

Artik thoroughly  e joyed just sta ding there in the water cooling  hi self off.  And when he took that little head dunk as an extra cooling bonus...... sooooo cute!!

Really, this made my day.  Cannot stop grinning 😄😄

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS...FWIW, I made the same decisions with my Happy Hannah.  When her four rounds of chemo were done...no more xrays....no. more Vet visits..just on to being free to live  life to the fullest.👍

Good to know for your decision about the x-ray! I kept wondering about it haha but in the end I believe this is the decision I am the most comfortable with.

The 2 humans in the video are my two childhood friends Claudia and Sarah, we have known each other forever. Sarah (the shortest one) is my regular vet and she has been a tremendous help throughout this process. Following Arktik up in his blood work between chemo rounds, communicating the information with the oncologist at the speciality clinic..And most of all, when I decided to do the amputation at my regular clinic she stayed (on her time off) with her colleague who was performing the surgery to monitor Arktik (instead of having only one vet with the technicians). sp_hearticon2

There little pups are Cyril, the short hair one (Claudia) and Luna (Sarah). They are a very happy bunch 🙂

What a fun victory walk for Team Arktik! He looks so confident and in his element, just having a great time being a dog, leading Cyril and Luna all around and taking in all the scenery. Your handsome pup is an inspawration to us all!

Congratulation on knocking out the chemo, what a huge step smiley_clapHaving a plan to cope with the rest probably feels so good and freeing. Now it's time to settle in and enjoy life together, focusing on one day at a time.
