That's great news that the blood work is looking good! How is Arktik reacting to the chemo in the days afterward? Does he have ups and downs? Does it effect his energy levels at all?

Hi Shane,

He is actually reacting quite well to the chemo. The vet always give me anti-nausea pills for a couple of days for prevention after the chemo so I believe this might help for gastro issues that he could experience. Other than that, the day following chemo he is a little bit lethargic but that's it. After (on day 2 post chemo), he is back to normal.

So overall, one day a bit tired but that's pretty much it.

Arktik is doing very well. All his blood work post second chemo were really good. We like good news like this 🙂

He loves going for our daily adventures, however today we took it easy. A surprising 95F today was a bit too hot for him as he still has all his winter coat (he does not take any chances with the ever changing Canadian temperature and likes to shed only in June 😉 So we have a few hot days (usually we get this from mid-June to August), we will take it easy and go for early walks.

Here are some videos from yesterday! Not as sunny as the rest of the week but Arktik was very happy.

"There are many coyotes around here, I believe I'm part of this pack. Especially when my buddies howl at night ;).  They leave scats in the field just for me. So rolling in dry  (fiouff!) scats is soooo much fun (even if mom is not very happy)...."

And lastly another one just running because this is what we love the most 🙂

Hi Patricia!  Arktik and Griffin really are twins with the grassy back scritches - they make the same goofy and ecstatic faces!  Thank goodness for no coyotes down here and the geese seem to have taken off for greener pastures, so his rolls are pretty safe for now!  So glad he is doing well.  He looks like a poofy cloud bouncing out there when running and his perky ears when you give him a treat are the absolute cutest!  sp_hearticon2 Stacy

Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com

Nuytim' better better than a good scat roll!!  And Arktik is so masterful at it!  Making sure he gets it on his shoulder, neck and face area....and so proud of himself  for not missing all the spots on him you snuggle!!

Thanks for  the joy of Arktik!

Hugs

OK, I have to ask.  Am I a terrible mama because I have never given Griffin ice cream?  I've never even heard of such a thing until I joined this crazy Tripawds group.  Arktik seems like he is enjoying his treat and I hope he doesn't tell Griffin that I've been holding out!  icon_lolsp_hearticon2

Is that the sweetest thing or what??   And he is so mannerly as he savors  every yummy lick!😎   Such a sweet video of a very sweet boy👍

Stacy....okay...I'll say it because no one else will.  Yes, you are a terrible mama because  you have never given Griffin ice cream!!.🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 It is NOT too late to redeem yourself!! 😎 Yeah we know.....not nutritional and all that...blah...blah... vlah.😱

Happy Hannh convinced  me that ice cream was a  wonderful nutritional supplement. 😉  One thing I know for certain, it added to  to her QUALITY!😎

So, in her honor, and as part of her legacy,😇 I always try to mention  ice cream as often as I can

Shhhh....Confidential  to Griffin:  "How did I do Griffin?  Do you think I "ice cream shamed" her enough with the bad -mama-legacy-nutrional bit that she will break down and get you some?  Thanks for your secret email asking  for my support.  Hope it works.  Shhh....our secret!  I'll be watching  for the video  of you with your first lick of ice cream.

A cool treat for a cool dawg!

Stacy, we have only given Wyatt Ray occasional licks of a mostly empty ice cream container, since his notoriously sensitive belly might rebel at too much of a good thing!

In the old days here at Tripawds (can you hear my rocker creaking?) ice cream was the do-all-end-all for good news or for pretty much any reason.

Stitches out? Ice cream.

Good x-rays? ice cream.

Finish chemo? ice cream.

Tuesday? ice cream.

There were no puppuccinos available (maybe it's my knees are creaking?) so we went with ice cream.

And FWIW Maggie got a little vanilla ice cream for her first and second birthdays but that was because my mom was making hot fudge sauce for us humans to celebrate.  Then Tani came and she had stomach problems so no more ice cream for the fur beasts.  Obie and Elly have never had ice cream as far as I know.

And now.... back to Arktik updates smiley4

Arktik is doing so well!! Its nice to see him so happy and hopping about. 🙂

Kinzi loooooves a puppacino! I haven't given her ice cream, she's so food driven that she'll literally eat anything with reckless abandon and joy.

Hahaha I love the tread hijack! So cool to see Happy Hannah enjoying herself 🙂 And all the other pups have such good parents!

And Sally ...is Griffin bribing you to talk to Stacy hahaha

To be honest, Arktik only gets a little too to make sure I don't upset his stomach. But he likes it once in a while 🙂 However, meat is always the best  treat for him.
