It's so nice to see her out having fun!

ElleVet is the best quality available, great choice by your vets! We have a great podcast you should check out, an interview with the company's education director, vet pain specialist Stephen Cital:

It is so smokey in our area, do to the near by fires, that we have not been doing much but short walks.

A little after my last post her back legs got sore again and I put her back on the Carprofen and she seems OK.

Her energy level seems to have decreased. But also we had a heat wave and then smoke which is probably effecting her also.

Ohhh beautiful girl! She looks so pretty.

I've been thinking about you with all those fires nearby, I'm glad you guys are OK. Hope that smoke isn't too hard on you, I know it can be tough and between that and the heat, no wonder she's not as spunky (I would be too!).

Stay safe and keep us posted. We love seeing Sadie!!!!

Sadie is suddenly not doing so well icon_cry

Her whole body seems to ache and it is difficult to walk. the Meds don't seem to be working. When I take her outside and back in she is breathing hard. Also she is not eating much.  Tonight she turned down a burger and hot dog but ate a Costco dog biscuit... still not sure what is so good about them? Even though she still wants to go out on the deck and guard the house.. .. no bear will ever come in with her!

We have an appointment at UC Davis on Monday, although I am not sure what can be done at this point..maybe a Zoledronate injection?

It is so hard to see her like this.

Sadie always takes su8ch beautiful  pictures.  And regardless of what's  going on I side, she always looks happy and content.

I know the smoke and heat have been hard on her.  How long has she been back on the Gabapentin  and Carprofen?  Wondering if upping the Gaba could help?

Also, ask the Vet about Prednisone.  It helps reduce inflammation  around the mets, as well as can ac pick up their appetite.

Others may have some insight  into the Zoleddronate.  Don't  know much about the ElleVet if there are any side effects.

And Sadie likes her Costco cookies but not a cheeseburger or hot dog??  Silly girl. You can maybe drive some jars of baby food to peak her interest.

And the fact rhat Sadie is still protecting  you from big one's bears is a good sign!

Hopefully  you can get some solutions  from your appt Monday.

Extra hugs

Yeah the smoke is bad and they don't make  n95 masks for dogs. icon_cry I have been giving her Carprofen and Gabapentin (and ElleVet) since August 2 when she started having difficulty with her rear legs. I stoped them twice when she was better but that only lasted a few days.

I upped the Carprofen from 100 to 150mg and the Gab from 300mg at night , to morning and night.

After listening to the interview with Stephan Cital, maybe mixing CBD and meds can have some issues. Although CBD seem good overall.

Costco must have some secrete ingredient in the biscuits !

Hey Tony, I'm sorry to see she's having mobility issues. No doubt it's all that thick smoke that's playing into her icky feelings right now too. How are you doing, are you feeling it?

So if it's a pain issue, there's quite a few things that can be done. She's on pretty minimal medication right now and yeah, for sure, the upped dosage of Gaba should help. Along with Amantadine and Methocarbomol, an NSAID and Adequan, Wyatt was on 400mg of Gabapentin 3x daily and he weighed 74 lbs. It worked very well for him and I hope with all my heart that some new combo will help Sadie feel better. Make sure it's OK with your vet to bump up the dosage, as well as with the NSAID as that might make her belly unhappy. The ElleVet CBD should be fine with the Gaba but double check with them if you can get in touch before Monday.

Sadies is declining fast and her breathing is very bad and she barley wants to move.

I did talk to her Dr. from Davis yesterday. The Dr. pretty much said that the cancer is in her lungs and there is not much they can do. She said if I wanted we could do x-rays to confirm. She talked to me about considering end of life. 🙁

I think it would be too much to take her for x-rays when we know it is the cancer and there is not much more they can do. She did tell me to up the Gab.

Last night her breathing was har.d.  I put a fan and air purifier on her and that helped.

I am very sad to have to say goodbye soon icon_cry

icon_cryooh Tony I'm so sorry, this just stinks. I hate cancer, it's so mean. Did the vet offer to prescribe anything like Prednisone to help her be more comfortable? It's a short term measure in a situation like this but it's cheap and easy to get from the pharmacy, which can give you more time together, and to prepare...

I wish I had something to help make her and you feel better, to give her more time. It's so not fair. When we have to say goodbye there is just nothing that takes away the ache. If she will eat, try whatever it takes. Venison, buffalo, cheese burgers, eggs, spoil her rotten. She is such a sweet girl and you are such a great dad to her. I know you are making every moment count.

Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help OK?

Sadie passed  by herself half hour after my last post. A little before 7AM

I took her out to pee and then I had to carry her back in and she died in her dog bed.

I am very sad but she is in a better place.

Ohhhhhhhh Tony! I'm so so so sorry! Oh my gosh I didn't think it was this close. Wow. Thank you for letting us know.

She was ready for her angel wings, and is so beautiful in them I'm sure. Heaven's newest angel is the most beautiful ever. Our heroes are there at the Bridge, welcoming her and falling in love just like we did.

My heart aches for you. Try to take comfort knowing you did everything possible, and gave her such an incredible life rich with fun and love and everything a dog could ask for. She was so lucky to have you for a dad.

We send our deepest condolences and hugs from across the miles. Sadie was a true Tripawd Warrior Princess, she will always be our hero and never, ever forgotten. Our lives are richer because of her.
