Stupid cancer! Tony I'm really sad too, this sucks and I know feels like a gut punch. I'm so sorry. Cancer just plays so mean sometimes.
You give Sadie such a great life, I know you will keep following her lead and embracing every day with all the love and enthusiasm in the world. The only way cancer "wins" is if we allow it to steal time while we are lost in our anticipatory grief. I don't see you allowing that to happen. Sadie's taught you too well! You are an expert at Being More Dog. Keep on with everything you've been doing to share her joyful love of life and you can't go wrong.
And if you feel like venting or just talking you can lean on us, we are here for you.
Now get out there and play with Sadie, she's waiting!

Nope, not expecting this at all. A kick in the gut to hear, but so glad Sadie did hear one single word of it. Once you can catch your breath, it is very important to know that this changed nothing in Sadie's world today!
And one of the main reasons is because outwardly Sadie is living life to the fullest. She clearly is embracing each day with joy and happiness! As one Vet told me one time about mh dog Bob, clinically, based on xrays, blood workout, etc, he should not be doing nearly as well as he was outwardly. And Cole's Bob thrived and was a happy boy for another eight months or so, in spite of what he looked like "inside"!
You've been on here long enough to know dogs DO thrive and continue to live Happy, quality lives even after mets have been found. JERRY is a prime example.
To some degree, Sadie is ahead of the game in that she is symptom free and this was only discovered because of pre work up. Often symptoms show up first, then the 'diagnosis".
When you can clear your head a bit, you can speak with the Onco about some options like Metronomics or Palladia, as well as nutrition and supplements. You can also recognize that you have already done more "treatment wise" than most people can, or would.
You are already mak everyday magical for Sadie. She is gleefully going from one glorious moment to the next. You have made everyday the best day ever for Sadie, and you'll continue to do so because you love and adore her....and she knows it♥️
And we cannot wait to see more videos of how Sadie is living life to the fullest! And even snuggling on the couch getting tummy rubs is just as much for her as going swimming .....well....almost😉 And be sure and take selfies with your sweet girl and show us all the ways you are continuing to spoil her.👍
Hugs

Hi
Thanks for the comments. She has been doing well but last weekend her back leg was a bit stiff and she was not comfortable walking. I gave her some pain meds (CARPROFEN, GABAPENTIN) and that helped. But I am not sure if she strained her back or something or if it is do to the cancer. After some rest and the meds she was fine then I stoped the meds and it seemed to come back. I am giving them to her again.
I might have to check with the vet if she does not get better.
Hey I'm so glad you shared those Sadie pics with us, I've needed a Sadie Fix for days! She looks good! Hopefully she just needs more rest time and snuggles. Keep an eye on her mobility as you are doing, it makes sense. Let your vet in on it if she doesn't improve, but hey you have the power of the Tripawds Nation on your side so of course she will!
Did you see we featured her in the Gear blog again? She is such a wonderful gear model. Giver her some extra scritches and smooches from us.

Look at that pretty girl with the Happy smile. We love our Sadie♥️
Yrs, as uou know, it takes very little to "overdo" or tweak a muscle. The fact that she improved with the meds and rest and then not as much without aure seems like a tweak that needs a little more healing time.
Massage all up and down her spine, neck, shoulder area. Any sign of tense anywhere? Regardless, keep the ,massages up for a few days to relax muscles and because it feels so darn good!!!
And keep those pictures coming!

Today is Sadie's Six month ampuversary! She went swimming with her Rotty friend Rocco.
I stopped the meds and she is fine now so she must have had a strain.
But I started giving her ElleVet. They were recommended by her local vet after her diagnosis. I have not given them to her since before the surgery.
Do you know of them or have any opinion on them?
