Thank you. He makes me happy to. Lots of smiles lately. We have to go back on Entyce tonight, but he had a good run. I'll be taking more pictures to celebrate his 4 month ampuversary. I was told he only had 3-4 months with no chemo. I know that plenty of dogs make it longer, but I'm still glad I've opted to do it. One more round next week, assuming scans are good.

Thank you. We're off to his new vet office soon. We've only been a few times, so he's still learning. They're very gentle with him, and it's just blood this week.

Thank you all very much. I'm sure he hates the Entyce. I have to wrap his head in a towel so he doesn't bite the syringe, it tastes horrible, and he gets sick for 1-3 hours. He did eat without it last night. It tends to last for 3 or 4 days between doses now, which is great. No cake, but he did get some chicken treats with gravy. That was a hit.

He certainly does everything in his own way. He had a blood draw today, and he's becoming an office favorite. I'm hoping we get at least one more year. 14 years old would be even better.

I have not tried Entyce. I always used mirtazapine for Mitchell. It is a simple pill... put it in a pocket and wait a half hour, lol. Now.. it does not last for more than a day and a half.. but it is easily given and did the job. If the other tastes that awful maybe ask your vet?

Another 14 years.. what a gift that would be sp_hearticon2

Big hugs sp_hearticon2

He was on that originally, but it only worked for one day, after over a week on it. We maxed his dosage.

I meant reaching 14 years. That's another 18 months.

Ohhh.. I did not know you already went that route. Mirtazapine worked well for us as long as we needed it but even on good days Mitch was not a great eater.

18 months.. I think that is a definite pawsibility. The way you care for him and his zest for life … never say never sp_hearticon2

I know ive said it before, but He is just so darn handsome❤❤❤ happy 4 months! That definitely deserves chicken treats.

I can sympathize on the appetite meds first we did mirtazapine which roane took just fine, but didn't work after a few days. then they switched her to probiotic powder, fortiflora i think. She hated it! I had to put it in gel caps to get her to take it!

Hugs❤

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.

Thank you, Bev. I know I'm biased, but Riot's a looker. I hope you're holding up okay.

Yes. Eating struggles are so rough. He did end up eating kibble last night, so he's spared any Entyce today. He has to go around 36 hours of no eating before I do it. His pain pills require him to have eaten.

Ugh. I found two hardish lumps by Riot's rib cage last night. They don't feel like his tumor did, but also not like the few benign cysts he's been sporting for several years. I'm hoping that because they're semi movable, it's not spread tumor. He's not showing any worrying signs I was told to watch out for. He's eaten with no meds the last two nights. He was very restless last night, and didn't sleep until about 5 in the morning. I think it's because he didn't have his squeaky ball. It got put away because my Dad tripped on it. I gave it back to him before I left for work today, and he settled down.

We have his scans next Thursday. I'm so worried. I'm making sure he doesn't see that I am, but coming in to work is awful, when I just want to be with my dogs. I also haven'y been able to get my local vet to send Riot's blood work from Wednesday to the oncology department. He needs that to keep his appointment Thursday. I've called them, and the oncology team has as well. We're at three tries. I don't want to have to miss a half day of work just to do something that a fax or e-mail can do.

I know it's easy to say, but don't panic. First, it doesn't change anything. And second, nine times out of ten the lumps we find after amputation are benign. Seriously, we see this a LOT and we are keeping our paws crossed that it's the same for you and Riot.

Remember, you can't tell anything by feeling a lump so if it will help you sleep at night, call your vet and ask for an earlier appointment. They can aspirate the lumps and tell you, hopefully, that it's nothing at all.

Silly Riot, don't trip up your grandpaw! Glad you got your ball back.

Welcome to the Worry Wart Club!

Before this journey, we worried very little about a bump here and there.  After this journey, we worry about EVERYTHING  and almost ALWAYS fo fo worse case scenario

Ditto everything Jerry said!  We do, indeed, see  it sooooooo often when lumps are just lumps and bumps are just bumps!!    And sometimes, lumps and bumps are bites of some sort!

Okay, no more taking Riot's squeaky  ball away or else you'll have another sleepless  night.  Dad, sorry, but Riot's BFF squeaky  ball takes precedent!

Okay, but your worries aside and know thst Riot is doing just fine!

Hugs
