Awwweee . . . you make me smile.
Just wanted to let everyone know, we picked up our sweet Harmony's remains at the crematorium this evening. She's in a lovely "trunk".
Somehow, things seem better now that she's been completely taken care of. It was a rough day, had a family member funeral today as well. But now we're home and for the first time in about a month, all seems (almost) right in the world.
We miss her terribly, but have stopped asking those questions of doubt. Now we're concentrated on spoiling our Melody.
Love to you all.
Pam, Ron (hub-a-dub) and Melody.

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw yo were in here. We've all been holding you in our hearts and want to be here for you in anyway possible.
I'm sorry today was hard and you lost yet another family member.
I do know it feels...not sure of the right word....it feels "normal" ,to have Harmony back where she belongs....things are just more normal. I also know it is dtill very, very sad and the grief will continue to come in waves. Eventually the hurt will not be non-stop and the happy memories will help push the pain away.
Harmony is auch a gift to us all, as is the incredible strength and grace you have shown during this journey. You and Harmony are quite a team..She, and you, have touched our hearts.
Would love to hear more about your earth time with sweet Harmony and Melody too. We would love to see more pictures when you feel like it.
Surrounding you with Harmony's eternal grace...

I'm so sorry you are coping with additional loss, my heart goes out to you and your family.
Bringing home the ashes is comforting in many ways and so difficult in others. I hope the coming weeks allow all of you to treasure those special times you had together and enjoy the ones you have now with Melody. Never forget that Harmony is right there by all of you.

You guys are the bomb!
I totally understand what you both are saying. I know the grief will be in waves. This morning was the first time the hub-a-dub didn't wake me weeping.
Once things settle down and I get caught up at work from taking so much time off for her, I hope to get my own blog started where I can tell all y'all about my sweet Harmony and Melody, not to mention I'm wanting to get to know everyone better! Can't wait to read everyone else's story.
Love to all!

I'm glad you're finally feeling a little "peace" in your heart. Like you said the emotions and grief will come in waves. Some days will be better than others and that it totally normal.
You and hubby take what time you need to heal your heart...there is no time limit on how long grief will last.
Sending you all warm hugs!

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
We all will look forward to a blog featuring Harmony and Melody!! I know it's too hard right now and your emotions are too raw. And I also know Harmony will be so proud to have you continue her life affirming legacy. There are thousands of days full of glorious memories waiting to be shsred! And can't wait to hear more about Melody too!
There is a link here to the Tribute Leash. It's a "leash" made up of ribbons honoring those currently on the journey as well as those who have returned home. It was started, and is cared for, by Pug Maggie's mom Karen. You may want to take a look at it and see if you'd like to make a celebration ribbon for Harmony sometime in the future.
You and Harmony ...and hub a dub and Melody are so loved here.

Sally and Pam- check this Thread About the Leash. There are lots of pics Sally took, and on the second page is a video Sally posted. Hopefully the one you were looking for.
And Pam- here is a Link to the Leash Project. Let me know if you have any questions. It would be an honor to add a ribbon for Harmony.
I hope the days are getting a bit easier.

We really have to n keep this innthe forefront somehow for everyone on the journey...just starting...innthe middle...or at transition. I love that we have kitties onnthere now too!
Look forward to seeing Harmony's ribbon when you are ready. It's bittersweet while making it, yet comforting, life affirming and, for me, I felt like Happy Hannah was right there with me wagging the whole time! Thump..thump....thump...

Today marks a week we lost Harmony.
Yes, the days are getting easier. My task today is to "clean" out all the things that make me cry every time I open the pet cabinet; meds, special foods, ear wash, etc.
The pet hooks beside the door still have her leash, collar, harness and cold weather jacket. To keep hers and Melody's accessories apart, Harmony's was always cool colors (blues, purples, etc.) while Mel's were warm (pinks, reds, etc.). Each time I reach for Mel's collar, I see Harmony's and the tears start again.
I plan on packing it all up and storing in my cedar chest. Her meds I hope to be able to donate to the local shelter.
I love reading about the Tribute Leash and plan on sending one in for Harmony. I also loved reading everyone else's story. You guys are truly very special.
xoxo

(((((()))))))))) HUGS!!!! The first week was really hard for me too. Just spent in a daze and a zombie ...and the purging of the 'sick' stuff.... I put Shelby's favorite toys away to keep them. Lots of her stuff still remains untouched... her collars, her wardrobe (yes, Shelby had costumes)...
I still need to do a ribbon for Shelby...
Much love!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Oh I'm so glad that you want to do the tribute leash. Whenever you're ready, we would love that. Meanwhile do what you need to do to help you bring back happy memories of your girl, everyone grieves differently. One thing I did that helped me was I put a sweater of Jerry's into a giant ziploc. Every now and then I take it out I can still smell his scent, it's wonderful and bittersweet, but a great reminder of our good times. I hope you find comfort in an object like that too.
