Hi Everyone:
I am new here and just today, posted my blog about my rottie girl Ravyn.
She was diagnosed with osteo in her right hind leg on Nov 30, 2009. She had just turned 4 years old. I work in oncology research so I know a bit about this horribe disease..so I was beyond devastated 🙁
Dec 2 Ravyn began chemo and bisphosphonates . Jan 20, 2010 her leg was amputated. She completed her chemo in June 2010 and never missed a beat, never had any symptoms, no dose delays or reductions.... and to this day (recent cancer check was last week) she remains cancer free.
She has thrived as a tripaw. Negotiating stairs like a champ, playing with a puppy, dragging me around the enighborhood on our walkies 🙂 Her oncologist wants to use her as inspiration for the newly diagnosed and I am gladly participating. I know back when Ravyn was diagnosed, a story such as hers (and this place if I had found it back then) would have offered rays of hope in the total despair of the newly disgnosed.
Oct 28th, 2010, she turned 5. Truly a milestone as I honestly didn't expect that she would make it this far.. but she has and she contines to thrive.
Anyway, that's a breif history of us and why I am here 🙂 Ravyn is 14 months out from her diagnosis and still going strong. I treat each day with her as a blessing and am forever grateful for each moment I have with her, she truly is my heart-dog 🙂

I just read Maggie's story, what an amazing little girl she was and how you must miss her.
Hi Becky and Ravyn -
Thank you soooo much for your story - It lets us Newbies know there is HOPE for this terrible disease...
When I first found out Riley has cancer (just a couple weeks ago) my world fell apart - my first thought was "I am going to lose my dog" truth be told it was a couple weeks of crying my eyes out and every thought was “I am going to lose my dog”….. but with all the stories, comments, advise etc. that this website has given me and Riley – I have hope that she can and will conquer this disease that it has taken her leg….
Hello Becky and Ravyn - Thanks for the happy story. We love those around here. My boy, Lincoln, is creeping up on a year post- amp, and is still doing well, though I hate to even talk about it sometimes in case I jinx it. 🙂 He had a CT late last year, and his lungs still look great, so we're hopeful if nothing else.
Ravyn is beautiful!

Thank you, Becky, for sharing Ravyn's story. It is always a good thing for us to be able to share successes!
Debra
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
Hi Becky and Ravyn! I'm so glad you're doing well! I love Rotties! I had a Rotti/Shep mix Sadie that had her amputation at 9yrs old due to osteosarcoma, and now I have Ranger, a Rottie mix about Ravyn's age that's a tripawd due to being hit by a car. Cancer always sucks, but it sucks more when they're young like Ravyn. I'm so glad she's kickin' butt! I will go visit your blog now
Lisa, Ranger and Spirit Sadie
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Becky & Ravyn:
Thanks for sharing your story and glad that Ravyn's treatments have gone so well. It is very similar to Rusty's story; Rusty will celebrate his one year Ampuversary on Tuesday and his chest X-Rays on the 7th were clear. I will be updating my blog with this milestone and posting some current pictures.
Chuck & Rusty
Rusty is a Labradoodle who was diagnosed with level 3 Fibrosarcoma on January 16th, 2010 and had his left hind leg amputated on January 25th, 2010 five days before his 18 month birthday. Please see Rusty's blog @rusty.tripawds.com. He is putting up one heck of a fight against this terrible disease.
Becky and Ravyn, what a pawesome story, WOW! We love to hear stories about pups who are kickin' cancer's butt, thank you for sharing yours and giving hope to so many. Rottie dogs, as you know, are really predisposed to bone cancer so hearing about one who is really beating the odds is so terrific.
Where is Ravyn getting treated? Sounds like your oncologist is in the know, that's really great!
We can't wait to follow along with her adventures, thanks for joining us here.
