Oh no. Sending good thoughts for your sweet girl!

Sending hugs from me and kisses from Abby,
Jackie

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Oh, I'm so sorry! I hope they can figure it out and help sweet Daisy. Lots of positive, healing thoughts out to you all...

Lisa

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Oh Julie.  I'm speechless.  Not our dear Daisy.  Please, please let it be nothing.

You know we are here.  But please keep us updated, please.  I won't be able to rest until I know she is okay.

We got back at 430am with tramadol and gabapentin. When examining her they couldn't get her to react except when putting pressure on her head/skull.

What they found:

she does not have any broken bones (xrays) she fell off the bed last week

she does not react when they move her neck (manipulation) slipped disc

she reacts when they put pressure on her skull

she has a hernia of the pelvic wall

We could have went with extensive diagnostic options such as CT scans, MRIs and more xrays but the vet said we would only be looking to confirm bad things such as brain lesions, tumors, cancer on a 14 yr old dog…..so we brought her home and we will just watch her and see if the gabapentin helps with whatever is going on. (they were leaning toward a seizure dx)

PS- please excuse the multiple spelling errors and incoherent run on sentences- no sleep tends to do that

Oh Julie. I'm so sorry, this had to have been such a tough night. I would have done the same thing if I were in your shoes, as far as not doing the extra tests, you made a good call as hard as I know it was.

Please give your girl a big, big hug from us and know that we are thinking of you both. We are here for you.

Sweet Daisy, this sucks!  Maybe she was just reacting to the pain of the pelvic hernia?  I hope that the meds make her feel better and happy and that this was just a weird anomaly.  You and Daisy are in our prayers for a full recovery and a comfortable day.  So sorry that you went through this with her, I can imagine how scary that felt.  Sending many virtual hugs to you,

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

I hope that the tramadol makes her comfortable.  I know it's still so hard but I couldn't agree more...doing tests would cause more stress on her.

Keep us posted on her progress after you have gotten some rest.

Thinking of you guys.
