Hang in there! This sounds super hard and scary, but will hopefully all be behind you before too long. Are you not able to call on Sunday to check in? Do you have some mindless chores or hobbies to keep you distracted?

I can try calling again tomorrow, even though they are closed to the public.

I know I have some house chores. But those suck! lol.

Maybe my husband and I could go see a movie, go to the golf driving range, or something. 🙂

I know this is maddening trying not to worry! And good luck with that, right? I always turn to junk food as my friend in worrisome times. Can't say that it really works though.

Has anyone offered any isight into what's going on with Brandy? Has her bloodwork given any clue? Has she peed?

The fluids, etc will help her. Remember, she's recovering from major surgery so it may take a bit longer for them to kick in.

We'll be watching for updates AND some good news!

HUGS!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

She never went potty from after I picked her up til I dropped her back off. Hopefully she has peed with the fluids going in her!

The doctor said she may be taking longer to recover because she is older and bigger. She is 6 years old and was 15.2 pounds before surgery. (She is on a weight loss plan though. 🙂 )

She's not very old, maybe middle age. She'll do well and hey, she's lost weight already with the leg gone.

The vet will probably express the your cat's bladder if necessary.

My Harry is both older and fatter 😛 (8 years and almost 17lbs before surgery. 15 flat now...also on a diet, lol) and he's healing up great. Have hope!

I asked the vet if she weighed her after the surgery or the leg itself. But those didn't happen. lol!

I'm curious on how much she weighs now. Maybe they will or already have weighed her. 🙂

Yea, I don't need her having kidney issues. I have them and lost a dog to kidney failure. Kidney issues are no fun and no joke.

Oh, I thought you meant earlier that she hadn't pooped since Tues or Wed. But are you saying she hasn't peed since then. Owwee!

She hasn't peed, pooped, ate, nor drank since at least Wednesday morning. /:

She did lick a little wet food and some water off my finger, but after a couple times, she would turn her head away and didn't want anymore. /:

Okay, my non Vet unprofessional thought....hmmm....seems like the not peeing is what they would make sure to check into right away. And I'm sure they did. It could be a kidney stone or something like that. So did they even mention expressing her bladder or anything like that? Or checking further into the not peeing issue? Just throwing stuff out there.

Geez, throwing all these questions out there isn't helping YOU relax!! Donyou have some chocolate or other junk food to help?way-cool

But yes, even without the not peeing issue, recovery is different for every cat and dog. It took me three weeks before I coukd finally say I did this FOR my Happy Hannah and not TO her!

Come kn Brandy! We're cheering for you so let's get better and get home!!

Hugs!

No. You're all good with the questions. 🙂

When I talked to the vet, she said a cat won't pee if they haven't drank. So hopefully with the fluids, she will go pee.

And I'm eating some pretzel m&ms! 😛

Purrkins is 6 year old also . They did keep him in the hospital like I said in earlier posts a lot longer in the hospital. I think of 6 as young, technically probably middle age but to me its young. I had a cat live until 16 another to 17 ,I have a friend who has a 20 year old cat stillsmiley

Don't worry about her size going into surgery my personal opinion only I prefer some cushion;) (weight) so it is there to lose if need be.

You have the tripawd nation behind you! sending good thoughts, prayers and positive energy your way. Hang in there, and try calling on Sunday at least you can see if they answer.

This absolutely is nerve wracking to say the least! We are with you!

Big Hugs

Holly & Purrkins
