Brownie definitely knew something about Christmas! I love that you put his stocking up on his nook. that was him saying I’m still here mama and I still love Christmas.❤️
I have an unconventional Christmas ornament on my tree this year curtesy of Roane. I was putting up lights and found a lost, mostly dead squeaky squirrel behind the sofa. I knew right away that he belonged on the Xmas tree. Stopped me in my tracks when I found it but it was the best find ever. They remind us there still here when we least expect it.

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.

Sally, Max's back seems to be doing a little better. He is stiff sometimes but can run, or shout I say trout with no problem. He is on a diet. He will be 10 in February so he is getting up there.

Max soon to be 10
Sassy don't really know but I would say between 6 0r 7. I have had her since 2015, and she was predicted to be 1 or 2 at the time.
Kenzie 6 months and full of it! She is at the age where she is in to anything and everything! But the funny thing is she will not touch one thing on Brownie's nook. She will go up to the nook, and sniff. Then she will just walk away. Strange!

So I was thinking about Brownie last night, as I do every night. And a memory came to mind, and I could not stop laughing!
I always write about how protective Brownie was of me. So I met this guy for dinner a couple of times, no big deal. He called, and wanted to know what I was up to. I told him I was getting ready to take Brownie to the park. He asked if he could meet us there. I said, "sure". I was curious to know what Brownie thought of him. Brownie was a much better judge of character then I ever was. So we get to the park, and he was there. Brownie went up to him and did his sniff, sniff, sniff. It was always three sniffs. Brownie didn't seem to dislike him, but it was more like, I can take it or leave it. So we walked around the park, and then it was time to go. So the guy walked Brownie and I back to the car. The guy went to give me a hug, and Brownie said "NO FREAKIN WAY"! Browne jumped on this 6ft tall man, growled in his face, and pushed him back. He almost fell! Then Brownie just stood in front of me, with his hair standing up, and a low growl, starring at that poor frighten man. I had to pull Brownie back, but he would not get in the car until the guy left.
Needless to say, I never heard from that guy again. LOL.....

We lived in an apt complex where Brownie met his friend Hemi. Just like Grizzly, Brownie would run to Hemi's door while I waited downstairs. Brownie would stand in front of Hemi's door at bark for him to come out and play.
There was a day I wasn't feeling well. Hemi's dad said he would be happy to take the boys down the street to the park/lake. It was a few blocks away and we would walk there so the dogs could play and swim. I thought Great, Brownie will be able to get out. So Hemi and his dad came to pick up Brownie. When Brownie saw I wasn't coming he struggled a little but he went. About 20 min later I hear Brownie barking at the door. I open the door and there is Brownie. I looked down the street and here comes Hemi and his dad running. Hemi's dad said as soon as he took the leash off of Brownie, he turned and ran home.
Even though Brownie loved Hemi, Brownie didn't want to be away from his mom❤

It's ironic when these things happen you don't think much of it. I would think, yep that's Brownie.
But once they are gone, and you think of all the things they did its like a light switch goes off. WOW, my boy did That!

Jerry you are right about the best date dectors have paws. Believe it or not Brownie let me know that my ex boyfriend was up to no good.
So we dated a couple years. Brownie was always So HAPPY to see him. When he was at the door Brownie would bark with excitement, do his sniff, sniff, sniff. Wagging his tail and jumping up and down. Then all of a sudden Brownie started acting different. He would come over, and sniff, sniff, sniff. Then he would back up and go lay in a corner. Some days he would growl. I could not figure out why Brownie turned on him. Well, I started getting that feeling in my gut that something wasn't right. Then I found out the jerk was cheating on me. How did Brownie know That? I tell you that boy had an intuition like no other....
I think with Brownie gone I should just stay home. Lol
