It so fascinating toseeal the ways Brownie is making his presence  known. I'm  really glad you made notes and chronicled  it all here

When you think about just one  isolated  incident, it doesn't have near the impact as when you thread them all together and build one of top of the other.

While I knew some of Brownie's ways of connecting,  I did not know about all.  Finding the toe grip so unexpectedly  and appearing 'out of the blue is such a strong "tampon your shoulder from Brownie❤  And the way you had all those electrical "interruptions' was definitely  Brownie's  energy mess ing with you!

An important  part of Brownie  connecting you, is your openness and high level of awareness when this happens.😎   Such a good team👍  Thanks for sharing these special momenrs.

Hugs

So I was feeling a little anger today. Pissed because cancer took my Beautiful, perfectly healthy boy from me. I was remembering what a special soul he was/is. Missing that something little extra that Brownie always gave. So I decided to log on to Tripawds to see what was going on. And boom, there is his banner looking at me right in the face. This has happened too many times to be a coquensidence.  I think my boy is really watching over me.  Then I realized how lucky I am. Nothing can ever break the bond Brownie and I had. Not even cancer.

My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019.  With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer.  I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud!  He will live forever in my Heart!

Awwww Nancy.  I'm amazed at the inner strength  you have.  It's an inner strength  Brownie  gave you.  All it took was for Brownie to say "Hi Mom!" by making his banner pop up.  You went from being bummed to an "attitude of gratitude"  And when you're  grateful  for Brownie being in your life, nothing  else can enter your heart  but love❤❤❤

The bond you have with Brownie truly is unbreakable  and eternal.  We see it.  We know it to be true.👍

Extra hugs to you....and a special thanks to Brownie  for showing  you, yet again, he's here with you, with all of us, and we are so grateful!

Darn right Nancy! Brownie came back to help you remember that his eternal love is far more powerful than cancer.

It was brave of you to say that you are feeling anger. But I'm glad you did. Sometimes it's easy to fall into that mindset that we got ripped off by cancer, but in no time at all our furry angels will come back to remind us that our bond is unbreakable. You saw Brownie's little reminder and paid attention to it, good for you!

Hi Nancy.  I can feel how much you love Brownie, and he you!  I can feel all the love passed between you both and that is a true gift!  It is amazing, the bond we develop with our fur babies.

I guess what I want to especially say is that, I think,  Brownie will be so happy when you eventually get another dog.  When you're ready.  It's like Brownie will then have a brother/sister.  And don't worry about the whole "comparing" thing.  I have had lots of dogs, 2 kids, etc.  Everyone has their own personality, that is what's fun about it.  I think once you get another lab you'll be so happy getting to know him/her and vice versa that you'll just be happy the way a dog makes us happy.  My dog Jake is anxious.  New people stress him out, he has a small "inner circle" of humans he is comfortable with.  If I have a big cookout I can't have him out, etc.  But that's the way he is...and he became a tripawd.  All ok.  You take what you get.  But I think when you're ready just go for it, dive in and enjoy.  That's what Brownie would want.  So fun reading all about Brownie.  You are an awesome mom!

Thank you guys for the kind words!

I really do want another lab, and when I get one it will be a Rescue. I have been snooping around on "Houston Lab Rescue". That have some beautiful labs that need homes that were neglected, abused, or the owner couldn't take care of them anymore. Just like Brownie who started his life in neglect.

Little Max would love to have an younger big brother. The problem is Sexy Sassy Sue. She is so jealous, and she will attack. She is ok with small dogs, but she finds dogs that are bigger then her a challenge. I just dont know. She was a stray that showed up at work, so I don't have any knowledge of her history, except she doesn't fetch, or play with toys. Go figure. But she loves puzzles!

I love that you want to rescue another Lab!

Does Sassy attack all bigger dogs? Every single one? I'm just wondering if there's a way to make it work. That would be amazing! Perhaps Brownie is working on it now?

I hope so! She use to pick on Brownie, and he would just look at me and say "mom make her stop, before I do something". lol But right before Brownie started limping she stopped. It was like she knew.

When I had Smokey (the stray) in the house for a couple days she was going nuts! I had to keep her in the front room. I think I might take her with me, and have her meet a dog away from her territory. See how she acts. I think Sassy is afraid of being replaced and losing her family. Even though she is a handful that won't happen.

Brownie was such a gentle soul! And I think you can read Sassy like a book, that is probably exactly how she feels. She always wants to be top dog, and of course she can even with another pack member! I really like the idea of taking her to meet another dog in a new location. You never know.

Oh, Nancy, I didn't realize you had Max and Sassy Sue!  Maybe it's better to not spoil the mix icon_rolleyes Only you would know.  I decided for me 2 dogs is the limit.  I always say, " two hands 2 dogs" so I can pat them both at the same time.  But that's just me.  I have a friend that has 7 and is as happy as can be!!  Good luck!

Well, at one time, when I lived in the country, I had 9 dogs, 4 goats, 3 cats, and two rabbits. They are all waiting for me at the bridge. What a party it will be!

Before Brownie, I had two with cancer, and two with diabetes who had to have incillion injections twice a day. Then all kinds of supplements and special diets. My kitchen looked like a vets office.

All the dogs were strays. My plan was to find homes for them, but I got attached.

Hi. Bwonie’s person,

my heart aches for what you and Brownie went through.  We have an 8 year old Lab who was 7 1/2 when diagnosed with front limb osteosarcoma and just before Christmas her leg was amputated.  She is vocal and has not barked since, but whines and guttural sounds.   I wonder why?

she is now servers low energy.  A week ago we took her to the animal hospital because she was coughing.    That did not help much except they xrayed her chest and good news she looks the same as post op.

she doesn’t want to eat.  Doesn’t really want to move.  When my friend stops by with her dogs she wanted to see them and now she doesn’t.   We can’t figure out why she won’t eat.  Sometimes she makes this noise that sounds a bit l8me drive heaves.

wish we could help her.  She is glad to see us and does not seem to be in pain.

what to do?  What’s next?  My guess her days are numbered.   :(.

Jackie.
