Always listen to your gut. Brownie had his third chest xray today, and unfortunately it was not good. He has one large met and several small mets. Brownie's one year anniversary will be on Wednesday. Due to Brownie's age, arthritis and hos mobility issues a decision will need to be made
The only advise I can give people just beginning this journey is to love them everyday, and then some more..

Ohhhhhh my gosh Nancy I'm so sorry. This sucks. How are you holding up? How is Brownie doing? If you want to talk I'm here, please let me know. I wish I had something helpful to offer at this moment. I know the heartbreak of mets and wish nobody every had to go through this. I'm speechless.
Do you think his up and down energy level was because of the mets? What did the vet say?

Yes, continue to love on him... and then love some more. Although, I can imagine how Brownie could possibly be loved anymore than he is now💖
Brownie is such an extraordinary Warrior dog. To think how he has beaten all odds. A senior dog...arthritis...."statistics " not on his side....and he's showing everyone to NEVER give up hope and to know every dog is different! Brownie is NOT a statistic and he is a great example that age is just a number!
Did the Vet offer any "comfort care"? I know uou don't want to pursue any treatment per se, but there still are things that can be done to keep that sweet boy comfy and bugging you for trreats.

Ho w can an xray about a month ago be ok and yesterday show cancer in the lungs
His vet said his energy level was fast breathing is do because of the mets. I asked about preidone and the vet said where Brownie is its not going to give much relief. His said it's not worth the risk with him taking the pain meds. He basically said have his -party on Wednesday, continue his pain meds. He said maybe brownie has two weeks. But he said "i was wrong before when I have him three months." But by Brownie xrays he is surprised he is doing as well as he is. Not well, but manageable
I don't understand how this happened so fast. I knew something was wrong.

There's such a fine line for us between over worrying and that feeling in your gut that something really isn't right. You know your crew so well, and you're all over his care.
You take the finest care of your family and because of that you may again have more time than expected. There's going to be good days and not so good days but i know you are going to make the most of what you have. Brownie is so lucky to have you, you are truly the miracle in his life. Without you he would have spent his life in chains and unloved. Please never forget that. You've shown him love, compassion, fun and have given him the best of the best.
I wish there was something I could do or say to change things. You know you're in our thoughts and in our hearts. Any time you need to talk or vent, you know that we are all here for you.

Thank you Jackie, but Brownie is my miracle in so many ways
I have two stray dogs hanging out at my house. They are very sweet. The big one I named Tanner and the small one Freckles. I have been leaving my garage door cracked and put down beds, because it's been cold. All the no kill shelter in Houston and surrounding areas are full with a waiting list, and I would not want them separated. When I checked on them they were snuggled up together. So sweet but so sad. I saw them earlier playing with the kids on the street. I have no idea on what to do, and I refuse to take them to the pound, but they can't live in my front yard. Any ideas?
