Howdy. Fall has arrived. Maggie loves the cooler weather as so do I. We'll be able to start taking Maggie to the park again. We had the grand kids this weekend and Maggie was out in the middle of their football & baseball games.

Hi everybody!

Brownie here. It's been a while since I have written. I have good news! As some of you know I was having bowel issues as a senior. The good new is I haven't had an accident in 10 days. Mom put me on a new diet about two weeks ago. She found a new food named Stella and Chewy. In the morning I get a raw meat patty of either beef, rabbit or duck. Then in the evening I get their grain free kibble which has dehydrated meat it in, and mom tops it off with bone broth. It is so good! I am happy. Mom said the accidents wasn't my fault, but I felt so ashamed!

Well Crristmas miust be close, because mom put up the tree. I can't wait for her to hang our stockings, because when she does it means Santa is on his way. I have been so good I can't wait to see what Santa brings me! Max and Sassy have been good too, but not as much as me! Then the day after Christmas it will be my 10 month celebration which means we get ice cream! So much excitement i just dont know what to do with myself!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Browwwwwwnnnnieeeee!!! It's so good to hear from you, merry pawlidays to you, Sassy, Max and Momma. This is gonna be such a special one for all of you smiley10

I'm so glad your diet has helped you in such an important way. I'll bet everypawdy is happy about that too. Accidents are no fun. I'm guessing it's all that new healthy food you are eating that's making your belly do a hoppy dance. And yep, Stella and Chewy's is really good stuff.

Hey you forgot something: PICTURES! We need an official photo of the pack in front of the tree!

Had a scare yesterday. When Brownie woke up he wasn't his happy chipper self. But he ate his breakfast so we began our day. As i was working in my office i noticed  Brownie was laying in his bed as normal, but I noticed he was breathing hard and fast. I realized he was in pain. I tried giving him a cookie in a way to test his pain level. When he said no to a cookie I knew it was bad. The vet seems to think he has developed arthritis due to age and being a tripawd. He is back on tramadol and remidyl.  Today he woke up feeling fine and acting normal. I guess pain meds will now be part of his daily routine. It made me realize how it can go from good to bad in a blink of an eye.

Awwww poor guy! He must have felt truly awful to pass up a cookie! Arthritis stinks but im glad you found something to help him feel better. Gypsy was on rymadyl for many years, it was amazing what a difference it made.

Hope brownie is feeling better today ❤ and yahhh for finding a yummy diet thats easier on the tummy! Thats a huge win!

Hugs & belly rubs,

Bev & Moe cat

Hey Nancy, I'm sorry he's feeling painful but glad he's back on the meds.

It's unfortunate that pain management needs to be part of a Tripawd's life, but take it from someone whose pup has been on some kind of daily pain meds for over three years: there IS better living through chemistry for Tripawds. Wyatt has up and down days too. The pain medication is nothing to fear, it's just part of helping them have a good quality of life. Spree taught us that lesson.

As long as you are in good contact with your vet, doing regular labs to make sure his liver is OK and keeping him slim and in as good a shape as can be, there's nothing to fear or regret. You are doing great my friend!

Sooo glad to hear  our beloved Brownie is back to feeling good!😊

And keep up with the massages.  My very old and very arthritic  Nellie loves her massages around her neck and shoulder especially. And they really seem to help  She can't  take Rimadyl or other steroid type because of bad kidneys /blood work/protein Even have to be careful  with some pain meds.

AND, I haven't  been as consistent  with the ones she can take because  of the "don't  want to give pain meds unless I really have too"  old fashioned way of thin.  So thanks Jerry for reminding  "there is better living through pain meds"

Extra hugs to that sweet boy 🤗

So the vet said to give Brownie 2 50mg tramadol and 1 rwmidyl morning and night. I did the first day, but Brownie is such a light weight I give him 1 tramadol with 1 Rimadyl twice a day. I know he is feeling better because when I came home he barked and even brought me his ball.

Should I give him his joint supplement with the Rimadyl and tramadol?

I just can't believe how one day he is fine and the next day not. I guess he was hiding it for as long as he could. Brownie likes his massage down his spine and on his hips. He just stretches out those back legs and moans in a good way! Lol
