Instead of me saying "no" I yelled out "GOOD BOY". He can do whatever he wants. I love him more then the couch. Lol

Oh totally agree, we love our pup more than any furniture in our "Dog house on wheels" we call home.

So then she figured out if she lay down on her side, she could still dig at the carpet with a fast speed with both paws! She seemed quite proud of herself! So funny!

Oh my gosh Wyatt Ray does this too! I need to capture that on video! Maybe it’s a shepherd thing?

Nope! Tri-PugMutt Elly does it too!  She does it in her beds mostly, sometimes in my dad's bed (shhhh, don't tell!).  I figure it is a good core workout.  I do have video- somewhere.

Isn't it funny how those things that were once worthy of a 'bad dog' now are greeted with such joy!  I'm so glad Brownie is figuring things out.

Yeah, Meg does this too. Though she does have a pinch of Shepherd in the mutt mix.

Brownie sounds adorable and I totally recognise that feeling of joy and pride at seeing their spirit reignite. It’s the best feeling in the world!

CONGRADULATIONS OSTEO!

My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019.  With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer.  I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud!  He will live forever in my Heart!

I noticed today that brownie has a red circle high on the back of his only front leg with no hair. I put some antibiotic cream on it and now is pink. I do t know if maybe he fell? Does anyone know what it could be. I'm worried cause he only has one front leg. I am calling the vet tomorrow.

I have to chuckle a little.  Ya' see, before all this thripad stuff. we would think nothing of something  like this.  Maybe a big bite, maybe an allergy,  maybe a hot spot, etc.  And it probably his still one of those things!

The other thing that could be tripawd front legger related, is some type of "pressure sore" thing.  Laying down with just one front leg puts a bit more of pressure on, especially  the elbow area.  Don't  know of the spot is in the area of the elbow.

Anyway.  I'm sure the Vet will figure out the cause and give you the best way to treat it.

Let us know, okay?

I do have to chuckle with you because at first I was trying to compare to the other leg and then realized,  oh yea, you only have one frint leg.

I'm sure it's nothing. It is between the elbow and top of the leg. I don't think he fell because where the red spot is there is no hair.

Gosh it really could be anything and very likely not serious at all. So yeah, why not have your vet take a look just for peace of mind.

Agree, cancer makes us hyper vigilant!

Keep us posted.

Hi! Pressure sore. Does anyone know how to prevent this. I have hard floors but I put rugs everywhere. My floor looks like a patched quilt. But sometimes he likes to lay on the bare floor because it's cooler.

I am excited because brownie is going to hydo water therapy on Friday. Being a lab he loves to swim. They have an underwater tredmil but but being a tripawd I don't know how he is going to do it. He is getting around fine but he gets out of breath easy. I hope this helps. I want to take him to the lake again. I know he misses it.

Brownie is barking again when he hates  the garage door. Lol

Get that garage door Brownie!  Get it!!   Good boy!

Others will have to chime in on the pressure sore.  It seems I do recall some people using Manuka Honey, and something  called a cabbage...hmmm...cabbage something.

So happy Brownie  is going "swimming"!!  Let us know how it goes.  We would love video!!

Hugs

PS. Being  a new tripawd is exhausting  at first and takes a lot of energy.  So  getting out of breath and tiring quicker all part of rhe adjustment.

Oh did your vet take a look? Yeah pressure sores are common around here. These Tripawds posts about pressure sores (hygromas) can help you decide how to deal with it.

Swim therapy will be GREAT for him! Yeah! Don't worry, the PT pros know how to handle a Tripawd in the water. Check out this post about hydrotherapy, I just shared it earlier today. There's a video of a Tripawd in the water, hope it puts your mind at ease.

Oh thank you! Brownie can do that. I was thinking of a fast paced treadmill.   I'm excited, don't know if he is. Lol
