I posted on Sep22 that I took my 12 yr old dal to my vet to examine a large lump on his wrist. My local vet xrayed it and told me it was os, gave us 3-6 mths. Knowing that he was not a candidate for amputation, I was devestated. I made an appt at Cornell U,  loaded up Sam (and Daisy for moral support) and made the 2 hr trip to meet with the Oncologist (armed with all the great info that was posted on the forum about bisphospanates etc.) After 7 hrs of tests, xrays, bloodwork, poking and proding, they said that it was not cancer but severe degereative joint disease. Good news (at least better than I thought). To my local vets credit-the xrays did indeed look like a a large part of the bone was eaten away but it was just the bone fragments from the arthritis.

Second good news: Tripawd Daisy has been getting UP ON HER OWN !! Yeah!! 48 days since amputation.

I am gonna buy a powerball ticket rasberry

Daisy earned her wings on Oct 22, 2011 at 14 years old

She is now the official greeter at the rainbow bridge

Everyone is guaranteed a welcome sniff and Dalmatian smile
