Wowwweee! We are TOTALLY head over heals and paws in love with Loki and your pack! Can you come play with us in Colorado when Loki is better? Love love love these GSDs! They look like such fun doggies.Jack, we will be thinking about you and Loki tomorrow. Post when you can OK?
P.S. You need to upload a different type of avatar photo so it will show up OK? Do you get any error message when uploading an image? Are you able to upload, crop and save the avatar at all? Are you uploading a .jpg or .png file? Is it at least 200x200 but less than 600KB? Have you tried the "Alternative Upload" if the default method fails? Please feel free to send us a photo and we can update it for you if it doesn't work.
Thanks Jerry,
I was able to finally get the avatar to work, still learning the forum, but it was pretty easy once I payed attention
You know we lived in Colorado a few years ago (Craig), about 30 or so miles west of Steamboat, gosh I miss it so much, I want to move back.

My Loki is definitely one very HANDSOME fella!!! And the strength he posses to carry that big tree limb in a river...amazing!! And the entire pack is simply gorgeous!!!My Leland underwent his amputation due to a failed TPLO procedure to fix his knee and an infection the clinic couldn't get under control. It's sad that Loki is needing an amputation due to an infection but it does happen from time to time.
Anyway, welcome to you and your pack and I look forward to following Loki's progress after amputation and all the adventures I'm sure he will have.
Sahana and her Angel Leland and Lucian too
Thank you so much,
One of our last walks when he was healthy he carried what probably measured a 12 ft branch around, awkward in size and pretty thick, total concentration and neck muscle. In that first picture he weighed probably 80-85 lbs, after his THR (surgery) I got him down in the 70's, now I got him around 64, he is smaller in size, but in person he looks huge (with all the fur). I used Metabolic Prescription food (works wonderful). I wanted his weight as lean as possible with all his issues.
I had just worked with a client who had done the same surgery as your Leland with failure, it's sad, such a crap shoot (but most work pretty decent). I know when Loki had his original THR, I thought it was a for sure fix, nope not at all.
Oh my dog every picture you share we're like "WOW!"
So glad everything went well today. Loki is so fortunate to be getting such great pain management ! I hope he'll feel much better and able to go home soon!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
So glad the surgery went well! I'll be keeping Loki in my thoughts as he starts his road to recovery. Keep us updated and don't hesitate to ask any questions.
Hang in there. ..The first couple of weeks are usually the most tiring.
