As many of you know we recently had to send our tripawd Maya to the bridge.  This left a hole in not only our hearts but in the hearts of Maya's brother and sister.  After searching the local basset rescue sites we found Barbra.  Barbara is a 4 y/o owner surrender.  She was having trouble going up and down the 15 stairs to go potty due to Glaucoma in her one eye and the husband wanted her gone! The pressure is down in her blind eye and she's feeling much better.  In fact she loves running in the back yard with Jethro and Lilly almost as
much as she loves her belly rubs and cookies!  She is the sweetest little girl you can imagine.  Barbra will get eye drops in her good eye the rest of her life.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I'm so sorry to hear about Maya, but it looks like Barbara was just waiting for her new home. Congratulations!

Ohh Big Jim and family, being willing to open up your heart to BEAUTIFUL BARBARA brings tears to my eyes.

I'm sooo happy for Barbara...for Jethro...for Lilly...for you and yes, for Maya. Adorable Maya is just tickled pink at who she sent your way.

I know your heart still hurts and you miss Maya terribly. I also know your generous and loving heart will hurt a little less as you fill it with love for Barbara.

She is soooo pretty! I just love her coloring. You can see the sweetness and gentleness just oozing out of her!

She has found the unconditional love that she's been giving out all her life. Now she'll have it returned.

CANNOT wait to see more pictures and hear more about her journey of bliss with you and the pack!

Good job Maya!!

Hugs to all..and extra treats to Barbara!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh what a lucky girl to find her way to your heart and home!

Is she a Tripawd? Cause maybe I need new glasses but she kinda looks like it in the pic.

Barbra is not a tripawd.  She is however blind in her left eye do to her previous owner not reacting to the early signs of Glaucoma and getting her treatment in time.
