Hi Everyone, it has been sometime for us.  Today I go for my checkup; get some x-rays to see if my inerds are clean. If they are, then I get round 5 of 6 chemotreatments.  My mom is super anxious but I remind her everyday how special each day is being together as a family.  I play daily with my little sister and mom too. It is super lots of fun.

I also wanted to let everyone know about this brace that I am going to get fitted with next week if everything goes well for me.  It is from Go Hero Go and my physiotherapist in Germany told me all about it.  The only yucky part is I have to be still for like 15 minutes so the casting mold can get a good mold of my leg.  I had some serious problems in finding a vet who would do this for me.  Ashley from Go Hero Go helped me find the help I needed because she has a listing of vets who will.  I need a little extra help for my front leg because I walk very heavy on that leg and because I am a Rotti, that is what we do! 🐶.  From there my custom brace will be made sort of like a prothetic for people. The guy who started this company was diagnosed with bone cancer at 16 years of age loosing his leg like I did. He wanted to help us critters because there is so little out there for us.  It is a little pricey, $900 but very worth it.

So more to follow. Be well and be safe everyone and thank you Jerry for letting us all use this site to help each other.

Koda! It's wonderful to hear from you! I love that you sound so hoppy and pawsitive, and life is good! We are all keeping our paws crossed so that you get good news back on your innurds (too cute!).

And it's VERY cool that you are getting a brace from Go Hero! They are the BEST! We know the founder and the guy you are talking about, he's so cool. His name is Ben and he was on our podcast about leg braces for Tripawds. Here he is with our Wyatt Ray at a vet conference:

I hope the casting goes well for you. Sooooo glad Ashley helped you find a vet that can help. If you don't mind, share the vet's contact info here in Veterinary Specialists Referrals so that others can know about her/him.

How cool is this knowing Ben!  But first and foremost, my x-rays today showed no signs of cancer today!!! My mom cried her eyeballs out, they are most certainly squeaky clean now.  All of my oncology team even came out to talk with mom and meet my little sister, sharing in the most incredible news.

So next week, besides my blood work, I will get a mold of my leg done then have a special brace made to support my leg. I am so looking forward to that and have already told my little sister “LOOK OUT”!  I just barely caught her yesterday but now there is nothing stopping me (except when she tackles me and I do a face plant hoping nobody saw that brief moment).

Dr. Jeff Mayo, DVM DABVP is a mobile vet and he is the only person in both the vet and rehab community here in the Everette, WA community willing to do the mold cast.  I am sorry but do not have his phone number but he is very responsive by email and is willing to meet people where it is convenient for them.  He can be reached at info@jeffmayodvm.com. I am very fortunate that my oncology team coordinated a time that is very convenient for us and they will get to know him hopefully helping out others like me.

we are celebrating tonight with some Super Duper Puppy food and special treats. Well the treats, we get all of the time but just an extra special day with my family today.

Huge Koda Bear hugs!

And yes, treats are great, but you need steak and ice cream to celebrate!!   And we want pictures!

Yes, your sister is going to love being able to romp with you again.  As far as face plants, your be proud!!  It takes a special  art to be avle to do face plants and rebound as though notingr happened!!😎

Fascinating  about having a custom brace made for you.  Look forward to hear all about how that worksmout for ya'.

Thanks for such a great update!  Can't  stop smiling!

Hi Benny!

I will poke Mom with my nose until she figures out if she has a blog for me so she can upload photos. There is a really good video of me chasing my little sister!! She’s really fast but I caught her anyway!! She was so scared she did butt-tuck zoomies!!

Love, Koda (still king of this house!)

Gah! Koda, stop poking me with your nose. I created your blog, you big goof. Here is a fairly recent photo for all your Tripawd fans. I will work on the blog later. It’s late!

Good job with the  nose poking routine....it worked!!!

Looooove this picture of your handsome self!!  Strong, sturdy, Regal!  Exactly  what the King of the household should look like!👍

Be careful with your little sister....four legged dogs are at such a disadvantage 😉😉

YAYAYAYAYAY clear x-rays! Oh that is the best news ever. I'm so happy it lets you guys get on with your plans to have the brace made. I looked up Mayo Vet Services, that sure looks like a fantastic practice. Very impressive, you're so lucky to be working with them!

And hey look at you gorgeous Koda! GREAT pic! Love it! sf-kiss So hoppy your mom figured out how to set up the blog. I saw she was in the Tripawds Chat late last night and then this morning but she didn't say anything. If she ever has any technical support questions she can ask here in the Forumsanytime and I'll have Admin Guy get on it right away.

Anyhoo, thanks for letting us know about your pawesome news. We pawtying it up today in your honor! smiley_clap

Even better news today from the Koda’s Oncologist.  The x-rays were sent off to a specialized radiologist finding no evidence of pulmonary metastasis.  My mom’s eyeballs are already read enough and now……well!!!! 🐶

Thank you all so very much for all the well wishes and support, we are all just absolutely overwhelmed with emotions.  We all will focus on telling my story better. Could not have made it through this process alone.

THANK YOU!!!

Hi everyone, I had to do some searching for my iPad finding it under Koda’s bed! 🤔

Anyway, I am trying to help out my niece who adopted a dog only to discover he had a Mast Cell Tumor. They caught it at Stage 1 but I am encouraging her to find an Oncologist just to stay on top of his cancer.  Her zip is 30024. Jerry, can you help in finding a good one for her?

Thank you so very much. BTW - Koda is passed out after chasing his little sister around the house.  He is like a tank that cannot stop very well, so LOOK OUT. 😂. So, I need to put my iPad back before he wakes.

Thanks Jerry!

Oh no, sorry to hear about your niece! Stage 1 is very hopeful though. And she's so lucky to have you for a resource.

I just searched the American Animal Hospital Directory and found this awesome looking practice in her zip code. They look great!

Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists-Referral

Haha well Koda, you are a totally unstoppable force of nature aren't you? Take it easy silly boy! Thank you for letting your mama type on your 'puter!
