Glad to hear they were able to get the right "mix" for Kenmore. Gus had trouble with phantom pain , started about 5 days out, he just started yelping at the top of his lungs, usually had a couple spells a day. It got milder with time and lasted about 4 weeks. Gabapentin helps with that. When I went to pick Gus up after surgery, which was the next day, he came hopping out proud as ever, was jumping on the counter trying to see what was going on,I'm thinking this isn't going to be so bad, silly me. The drugs at the vets office I think work a little better than what we get at home, but time will help that. Your on your way now, Paws up, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Hooray for Kenmore! Thanks for the update. Please keep us updated on his progress.

After recovering so well, this is the thanks we dawgs get? Sheesh! 😉
Don't forget to add his pic to the Cone Wall of Shame, we'd love to see it.
Great news, let us know if you need anything OK?

I am glad to hear Kenmore is on the mend! Get some sleep now, it could be a few days before you really sleep a full amount again. Great job Kenmore! Get pictures too, it is like graduation day.

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Yes, Kenmore is home! He's been home since Thursday night. I spent the day with him Friday, yesterday and finally left him alone for 2 hours today. Only then did we put the cone of shame on him but no issues. He's awesome! Did make a quick run back to the vet yesterday, since we thought there's was just too much "seepage." Turns out he broke a stitch. Must have been the running around the yard! The vet on duty said to do nothing-she checked it-OK. Just give Kenmore Ace to keep him calm and quiet- and the Husband a beer to calm him down!
He's been pooping since the he got home & eating normally- we are giving smaller meals since he is hopping around -we're afraid of bloat. He's on Deramaxx, Ace, Clindamycin and Proviable. He takes all the "treaties" with no issues. No consistent whining since the first night and last night he slept in our room thru the night.
I'm so happy to have my Puppy back- I haven't cried in days. I look at him and tell him what a big brave boy he is and how much we love him. My strength comes from him.
My future posts will be under Treatment and Recovery....see you there.
