We know those fears, the anxiety, and the HUGE SIGH OF relief thats understated when you hear the all-clear. A semi-truck has been lifted off your backs!

SO TRUE. I don’t think I fully realized the weight of the pressure until it lifted.

On a related note, one of June’s new modes of celebrating in her own way is discovering how many of our old school Italian neighbors who keep stashes of dog biscuits handy think that one fewer legs deserves extra biscuits! 🦴 (She now wants to approach people on porches at random just to see what they might have for her — we don’t actually let her!) One man we know (a keen dog lover with a pittie of his own) pursued us down the street on a walk with a whole box of biscuits that he pressed on us insisting that she deserved them. Such a kind fellow. sp_hearticon2 (Though at this rate how will we ever keep her slim?!!)

Awe, June, what a good girl and so smart. Yes, minus a leg deserves a biscuit😁 I vote to let her have the gifted biscuits and deduct those calories that day. Yes, it would have to be a guess unless you ask. What kind are these, and how many calories are you gifting my Juno LOL (That is in your brain, I know it;)

The calories vary greatly between biscuits and the size 🤔 deduct a guesstimate biscuit, maybe?

What I know 100% is you never want to look back one day and say I should have let Juno have that biscuit. Compromise somehow for you both.

We vote to take the biscuit and run Juno!! 💨 When Sally sees this, that will be her vote, too!

BISCUITS FOR JUNO, BISCUITS FOR JUNO !!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍

So well said!! I realized that pretty quickly, and yeah, we let her have all the biscuits.  It’s good for the spirit - for our neighbors, for us, and for her! sp_hearticon2smiley4 (…though we still draw the line at letting her rush random porches! 😂)

As far as the gifted box, they’ve become her after-evening-walk treat. She reeeeeaaally looks forward to that!!!

In the end we just watch her figure and tweak other things down if/when she needs it. (kind of something we’ve had to do all along, really)

We vote to take the biscuit and run Juno!! 💨 When Sally sees this, that will be her vote, too!

Loved this soooo much. ^^^ I’ll tell June for you - though she needs little urging where it comes to food!!!🦴🦴🦴icon_lol

I understand drawing the line on the random porches 🤭🤣 it's adorable to hear she wants to check for biscuits 😍. And yes, good for you ALL!

She is so active with her rehab and all you guys do for her; I know that helps burn off biscuits;)

THAT is hilarious! Yes it's really hard for a lot of people to not want to spoil a three legged dog with more food! What nice neighbors you have 🙂

June needs a "Treat Inspector" badge now 😉

We totally do! I often say that we live in Hobbiton (if you’re familiar with Lord of the Rings).

She’d happily take up the treat inspector badge with pride and vigor! I almost picked up a “Tricks for Treats” bandana for her that I saw online for Halloween this year, but it was sold out!

Stop it!! Stop it right now!! You can never make a post this adorable without first giving us a CITENESS ALERT  ! Too much cuteness without warning creates levels of toxic happiness overload sprinkled with giggles and melting hearts!

DEEEEELIGHTFUL photo😎

smiley_clapicon_lolOh yeah! Juno you are so cute you don't have to do any tricks for treats in our house, but dang let me just say you are very talented! How on earth? I've tried that one with Nellie and not much luck so far.

We want to move to Hobbiton!

Well Holly I'm headed over there now, totally want to join in smiley16

Holly - the moment I saw your gif I immediately though of that photo! And rest assured she got to eat every last one. They’re actually kibble from her morning breakfast. He record is 16, and at this point we’re mostly limited by the amount of flat space on her head. We’ve not tried with biscuits - it may be worth a go, but maybe not letting her eat all of those or she’ll certainly be queasy later in the day!

I’m totally joining in your awesome new thread - how fun!

Sally - message received! And I can’t believe I was so careless with such nuclear levels of cuteness!!! - you’re so right, cuteness of that level must be wielded carefully and with due warning! With great cuteness comes great responsibility. 😉😂

@jerry - It took us a while to train Juno to do this. It was a pretty cool way to help teach impulse control, but it wasn’t instant by any means! Crazy hooman games!!

You’re welcome to visit us here in Hobbiton sometime!

I figured these were within her allotted calories for the day.😁 I also agree with not eating the stack of biscuits.🤣🤢. She would have a very upset tummy and the scoots. 💩

I have no doubt Juno can and will learn and do anything you ask of her with pleasure. I shared Juno's pic with my Mom; she is in love with her, too. Juno brings back lovely memories for us.
