YEY!  I am soooo relieved.  I can feel my BP getting back to normal and my sweat glands drying up.  What a morning!  Those 10min, waiting for the report was awful, but thankfully it turned out well.  Whew.

So, yes, his lungs are still clear!  A radiologist will review his xrays to confirm, but as of today 2 or 3 oncos all converged and agreed his lungs are clear.  I also remembered to ask what his 'mitotic figures' were from his pathology report (that was 2mo ago): 5.  That's not incredibly high (like in the 30's or 40's) and it's not super low (like Libby's stellar "2").  It's 'mid range, average.'  OK, I'll take that.  Supposedly, mitotic figures for osteo doesn't mean as much as it does like in other cancers.  Nonetheless, it's comforting that we're in single digits.

They took a urine sample, too, to begin screening him for metronomics .  I'll continue to call pharmacies (Costco was recommended) and get quotes, but I'm pretty sure we're going to do them.  That'll mean we'll start in about 10d, after Jackson has processed this chemo.

I again asked the role MSM plays with metronomics .  It apparently does a nice job of lining and/or protecting the bladder walls to keep bladder irritation under control.

Oh, and his weight is identical to last appt's.  That's great!  Although, I expected a gain as it's clear his upper body has bulked out within the last few weeks.  I guess all that extra protein is doing all good things for my boy.

Belly rubs and treat for all!  Beets, bananas, swiss chard, cheese, broccoli, and chicken breasts for your furbabies!  (And a beer for pawrents!)

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

SWWEEEEEEET! Whew! We needed that today, thank you.

Hey thanks for asking about MSM, that's great information to know. I'll be sure to add it in our metronomics forum discussion.

Give your boy a big big smooch from all of us!

Way to go Jackson!  That's pawsome!  I think the low mitotic figure is a good sign.  At least, I want to believe it is.  That, incombination with the clear lungs= Hoppy Dance!clap

I'm encouraged about the MSM since Libby has just started MP.  She's been getting 2,000mg/daily of MSM for 2 years now. :)

You guys rock!

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Jackson that is great news.  You are such a fighter and I know that you are going to keep on fighting.  Your Mommy must be so proud of you.  Sending you lots of hugs and kisses.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
