I think we have a friend in common, or an acquaintance. Her name is Amy and she lives in the Reno area. She mentioned to me that she saw a dog at her daughter's school who was missing a leg and the dog's person said she was getting him trained as a therapy dog. Must be you, right?!

Jake is very inspiring.

Hi All!  Such an exciting day for Jake!  Passed his last test, and is now officially (pending processing of paperwork) a Therapy Dog!!!  (Originally scheduled for Thursday, his test got pushed up to today)

The tester, who has been in the Therapy Dog business for over 30 years said "I have never cried during a test, until now. I have never seen anything like it.  Jake was made for pet therapy. It was an inspiration to watch him work. Everyone loved him, I mean everyone."

Thank you all in this tripawd community for your support and words of encouragement.  Even though he is only 5 weeks post-amp, he continues to flourish!  Without this community, I would have been lost.

Kristindeluca - sure sounds like Jake.  I bring him to my kid's school (Jessie Beck) everyday, even before the amputation.  At school people who I do not even know approach Jake like old friends.  As far as I know, Jake is the first tri-pawd Therapy Dog in Nevada so I bet it is us.  Such a small world!  Jake and I have you and your beautiful girl in our thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Wow, the tester's words are very cool.

Hooray for Jake!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Two months post amp, and Jake is amazing!  He has blossomed as a tripawd!  His new role as a Therapy Dog (now TDI Certified) has taken his life to a whole new level!  He was even featured on the local news (KOLOTV) and has his own page on Facebook.  I couldn't have done it without the support I found here.  Thank you Tripawds!

Wow! All this in just two months? Jake definitely gets the "Amazing" badge!

Do you have a link to the TV segment? How about his Facebook page? We want to help spread the word about your amazing Tripawd hero.

I am so proud of his progress these past tow months.  Here are those links:

http://ww2.kolo.....d=52564993

(some of the KOLO information says Jake is "continuing therapy mission", but he did not get this TDI certification until after becoming a tripawd)

Also, please vote for Jake as Dog of the Week on adogspurpose.com:  http://www.adog.....e=hotornot

I have liked Tripawds and Canine Amputation Awareness on Jake's facebook.  I also mentioned Tripawds.com in the TV interview, hope that was ok.  I just couldn't have gotten through this without you all!

Awesome stuff.  Jake is going to change so many lives (already has!).

Karen and Spirit Magnum

Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/

Oh my gosh YES! The more folks who know about the Tripawds Nation the better, thank you.

The video is great! What an honor to be mentioned. And I voted for him too!
