Duke we believe is about 10 years old he is a wonderful part of our family. My family we were moving into our new home a little over 8 years ago and as my son and I were driving to our new home at about 3 different stop lights it was a small Toyota with a huge Rottweiler head sticking out of the back window. At the light I commented to the driver what a beautiful dog you have. He said it’s not mine I am taking it to the pound. I said pull over.

He said he found the dog tied to a dumpster and took him to his apartment with his daughter. He soon received a letter from the HOA you can’t keep the dog. I had him follow me to our home I said I would find a good home for the dog. He was about 110 pounds and needed a lot of work. He looked like a Duke so that was his new name

Nov 24 he was diagnosed with bone cancer in his right front leg. I have since that time been trying to concentrate on better food,, vitamins and turkey tail mushrooms, cbd oil and black seed oil   I also have been giving him fenbendazol a similar protocol that Joe Tippens followed with his cancer. It’s a very interesting story and I hope It helps Duke.

Duke is having his leg amputated tomorrow and I pray for his strength to shine through. He is active loves to swim and as tough as they come and I am sure he will need everything he has to beat this. would post a pic can’t quite figure out how

Hi and welcome to you and Duke. This is the club nopawdy wants to join but we are glad you found us, and are here to help. Your future posts won't need to wait for approval so post away.

What a great story about how you found him. I think Duke chose that route on the way to the shelter because he knew someone like you would be there to rescue him. LUCKY DOG!

Over the years we've had many Rotties join us and they do really well on three legs! If you haven't already I recommend checking out our What to Expect articles , and Jerry's Required Reading List . Our Tripawds e-books library also has helpful information too. Oh and don't forget the Tripawds Foundation will pay for your first rehab visit so take advantage of the program. Rehab is especially helpful for Tripawds after surgery, and educational for us too.

Whatever we can do to help just bark. Oh and as far as adding images ,

This is how adding images to the Forums works.

  • Upload pics to a photo sharing site like imgur.com or your own Tripawds blog (https://tripawd...../supporter). Pictures and video have to be hosted (live) somewhere other than in the forums.
  • Once the photo is uploaded somewhere, right click and copy the Image URL or just copy the image if you’re on a phone
  • Return to your Tripawds Forum post and paste the image URL (or the image itself) in your post. It should automatically appear.

If you’d like help figuring out the process let me know.

Yes indeedy, the way you and Duke "connected" was not a coincidence. He was waiting for you all  his life and clearly has been well loved ever since!

As Jerry said, we've had many Rotties handle  life on three like the true Warriors they are.  Recovery's  no picnic for the first part of recovery, but that part doesn't  last furever.

Good job of giving him better nutrition and supplements to keep his immune system  strong.

We'll be se di g lots of pawsitive energy to Duke tomorr so update us when you can.  Is he spending the night at the  clinic??

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
