I can't believe my shit luck. Czar will be joining Riot in the osteosarcoma club. He loses his left front leg tomorrow. He needs to lose a lot of weight, but the surgeon tied up his leg and he was able to get around. He'll be starting chemo at some point, we need to get an appointment with oncology.

Oh nooooooo! Oh my gosh I'm so so sorry. That just bites the big one and I can't even imagine what is going through your head right now. I can only think of one other time this has happened to a member in 12 years and right now their name is escaping me, total brain fart 'cause we're getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving. Maybe someone here can help with a link.

Try to look at it like this: the second osteosarcoma rodeo is not as hard as the first one. Sounds easier said than done I know. But you've got this, and we've got you. Let us know what we can do to help OK?

(((((hugs)))))

Thank you. I hope he bounces back better than Riot did. I'll make sure he's eating and moving more regularly. Plus, he's almost three 1/2 years younger than Riot. I wish it wasn't his front. He's definitely a chunky guy. Is there a way to change my user name?

Darn it anyway. They say that everyone will be touched by cancer, personally or family member, but I never thought that meant pets! I've had two cats with different "rare" cancers. And now your Czar has the same as Riot. icon_cry

I hope Czar has an easy recovery. Of course, you have many friends here who are here to support you, Czar and Riot.

#$@%#!!!!!  So bummed ,to h♥ear this!  What a rotten pile of poopicon for you to be dealing with.  Unflippingbelieveable!!

Thete is certainly  no "fairness", no "free pass" in this crap disease.

As Jerry said, at least you'll have a better understanding of what to expect.   I know thst doesn't  help much, but at least your stress level will be lowered a bit.

Wish we all could help somehow to lighten the .load.  We need to have a Tripawd Commune where we could all live and help each other out!

Just know we are here for you and most certainly  will be cheering for Czar and hoping for a smooth recovery.

I know one thing, if this had to happen to Czar and Riot, they could not have better care and truly have unlimited love from you.

I just saw your post on IG. I am stunned,  not nearly as much as you I am sure.

You and your family are so loved here.  I will never get why bad shit happens to good people.

If there is anything i can do,  any of us can do please just say it.  I cannot even fathom how devastated you are right now.

You have worked so hard,  and maybe Czar is with you because a greater power knew you would handle it.

Message me any time if you need to vent.  I'll give you my info gladly.

Sending you the biggest hug,

Efing cancer.  I was hoping to log on today to better news.

Maybe Jerry is thinking of Nikki and Buddy, a pair of rotties who both developed bone cancer, their dad is named Ted.  Here is Nikki's blog and Here is Buddy's blog.  Buddy was never amputated but entered a study that spared his leg.  He passed from kidney failure I think, caused by one of the drugs in the study.

Didn't Moose's people have another dane with OSA?  Not at the same time though.

There have been several here with multiple cancers in one pet or cancer in more than one pet so there are people who can relate to the devastation you must be feeling.

You've got this for Czar.  Sending positive thoughts for an easy surgery tomorrow.  Update when you can.

Thank you all very much. This has not been a great experience. I dropped him off this morning. They wouldn't give me the surgery time, so I just have to wait and hope to hear something soon.

So sorry to hear. Brownie is my third with cancer. When my Shepard was diagnosed with bone cancer my dog Daisy was diagnosed with lung cancer. Unfortunately Daisy only made it three weeks before she went to the bridge. But I only delt with amputation one at a time.

Sending good thoughts your way and I am so sorry!

My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019.  With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer.  I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud!  He will live forever in my Heart!

Thank you all. Czar is out of surgery. He's not awake yet, but they said if he had trouble waking up they'd call. I'd rather they call once he's off the breathing tube, personally. I'm not allowed to visit him today. They'll decide tomorrow whether he can go home, or spend another night.

Wow that was fast. Better to get it over with, and yay he made it through surgery! It sucks not to be able to visit, but many vets have told us that it's for the best that first day.

I know this has gotta feel like the most awful deja vu ever. You've got this though, and between you and Riot, Czar has some excellent leadership to get him through recovery.

Your sweet boy will be home soon. Keep us posted OK?
