Just a quick update on Carter - he is now 13 days post-amputation and he is doing remarkably well.  The effects of the pain medication are now waning and he is getting back to his old self.  He has the bathroom routine down just fine (having now to go out the front door then to the back gate instead of down the steep deck stairs).  He is starting to play and is back to  picking up his favorite plush and parading it around the house.  His little brother is also adjusting well and they are back to grooming one another.  His appetite is healthy; his hair is growing back in nicely and he is raring to get back to the park...but that is going to have to wait.  His sutures come out tomorrow.  we didnt get the best news from the biopsy as osteosarcoma is the official diagnosis.  Nothing has spread yet but all say that it will.  I am going to post a query under treatment about carboplatin for chemo and see how others have done with it.  thanks all for your continued support.

I'm very sorry about the diagnosis...I understand the devastation of that news. Try and take it one day at a time and stay focused on the here and now. The inevitable will come for all of us whenever it is supposed to. Our job is to live while we are given the gift of life.

I left you a note under your chemo entry...

We're always here for you
