4 Years ago I adopted Toby my German Shepherd mix from people off of craigslist. Last May exactly Toby ruptured his left rear knee which resulted in a Tplo surgery. At this point Covid was new and my vet office were abiding by cover rules and only allowed patient drop off. Which meant I didn't have a chance to talk to the surgeon or ask questions. They never told me that that kind of surgery can later result in a meniscus tear or damage to it. So two weeks ago Toby ran after a deer and came back limping. He reinjured the same leg. Once option is to do a surgery on the meniscus, but most of the time these surgeries are not very affective. So a friend of mine asked me if I'd consider amputation. She also directed me to this sight. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon next Saturday to discuss Toby's meniscus injury. I'm so afraid that I will end up with another vet who doesn't know what they're doing. I'm hoping to find good recommendations of good surgeons. I live in Rancho Cordova, CA.
